PSA Regarding Shipping Live Animals later this year.
The USPS just announced it will raise their holiday shipping prices very early this year. They they are expecting a high volume of packages earlier than usual this season.
Last year I shipped birds in late November and due to the holiday online shopping/package rush they got held up for 7 days. They arrived alive, but I heard many other live animals that got similarly held up were not as lucky.
Anybody who needs to ship a bird/pigeon/poultry/live animal of any kind should get it done by mid October at the latest in my opinion. If you take anything away from this, DONT SHIP LIVE ANIMALS DURING THE MONTHS OF NOV AND DEC. The chances of them being stuck in a distribution center and possibly dying due to a backup of packages is way too high. Let's be proactive about this, and compassionate the animals in our care.
