Welcome to the pack, Harmony! This little angel just joined KWD for daytime hangs, and it’s already been so rewarding getting to know her. She’s navigating a whole new city, home, and life—it’s a lot!—but we’re taking things one step at a time, building trust and confidence every day. She’s selectively reactive (which, as we all know, is no big deal here!) and loves other dogs, so we’ll start social-distance walks soon to help her ease in. Jackson, the golden-cavalier, and Ziggy, the husky, stood at the edge of Lady Bird Lake, paws damp from their daring escape. The city buzzed behind them, but out here, they were free—wild things untamed by fences or leashes.

“Do you think we were meant for more than just backyard naps and kibble rations?” Jackson mused, gazing at the rippling water.

Ziggy let out a husky chuckle. “Absolutely. We were meant for this. Wind in our fur, no humans calling us back, endless adventure.” He pawed at the shoreline, eyes shining. “We should swim across. Start a new life on the other side.”

Jackson hesitated, then grinned. “Just imagine it. We could be legends. Jackson and Ziggy, rulers of the wild.”

Ziggy howled in agreement. “Let’s go.”

They leaped together, splashing into the cool, open water—tails high, hearts soaring, free at last.

I worked in an animal hospital for years and I knew pet safety would be absolutely paramount when building my business. This entire team is trained in pet first aid and CPR, with instant access to life-saving instructions pre-saved to each of our phones for every imaginable illness or injury. With nearly a decade of experience and tens of thousands of successful walks, we’ve encountered every surprise imaginable during a standard visit:

💊 Medication Ingestion… Imagine leaving for work, and your dog discovers and consumes a bottle of Advil left within reach. Ibuprofen, the active ingredient in Advil, is highly toxic to dogs and can cause severe gastrointestinal issues, kidney failure, and even death if not treated promptly.
