Anesthesia training by simulator lab. #veterinarymedicine #anesthesiasimulation #continuingeducation
Our Pet Specialists of Austin team recently leveled up their skills! πΎβ¨They participated in an anesthesia simulation lab alongside colleagues from other Thrive Pet Healthcare hospitals. This simulated and open forum training held at our stunning Thrive support office in downtown Austin, helped our team stay at the forefront of veterinary medicine. Thrive Pet Healthcare is committed to providing the best possible care for your furry friends. By investing in ongoing education for our staff, we ensure they have the knowledge and expertise to handle even the most complex cases. Thanks to this training, our team is even better equipped to provide your pet with the highest quality care. π©΅π©Άπ€ππ

Important Update! Recently, our hospital has faced challenges in ensuring adequate emergency medical coverage during overnight hours. The safety and well-being of your pets is extremely important to us, and we feel it is necessary to adjust our operating hours to align with our existing staffing capabilities.
Therefore, starting Thursday, November 16, Pet Specialists of Austin emergency care will temporarily transition to a modified 24-hour schedule, offering immediate medical treatment for pets from 7:30 a.m. on Sundays through 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
Between 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and 7:30 a.m. Sundays, we will be closed and unable to provide overnight hospitalization.
During that time, if your pet needs immediate medical treatment for a serious or life-threatening condition that may require hospitalization, we recommend you contact Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Care in Round Rock at 512-744-4644. Please call ahead to ensure availability.
If your pet requires prompt access to a veterinarian but does not have a critical or life-threatening condition that requires surgery or hospitalization, we recommend you contact Thrive Pet Healthcare Round Rock Urgent Care at 512-960-2671. Although urgent care is a walk-in service, please call ahead to check the availability of the urgent care team.
Some examples of pet behaviors or symptoms that may benefit from urgent care include loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, eye or ear infections, fever, allergic reactions, itching, lumps, limping, minor wounds or injuries, or the ingestion of minimal toxins or a foreign object.
We apologize for any disruption this may cause.
We are confident that, once key emergency medical team roles are filled, we will be in a position to resume our 24/7 operations and continue offering the round-the-clock emergency veterinary care you rely on.
NOTE: Pet Specialists of Austin will continue to accept specialty appointments Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
