Adopt or foster a post-parvo treatment puppy, so we can continue saving more! Here are some of the available cuties!
Hi everyone!
These are puppies we have available for adoption. Most of them are parvo survivors who need out in order to make room for other parvo survivors!
Come out and look at some puppies, so we can continue rescuing more!
- Lauren
Hey everyone!
We have 31 negative puppies in our parvo ward with nowhere for them to go! This takes up room for other parvo positive puppies that need rescue from euthanasia.
We will adopt to anywhere in the country as long as you provide the transportation.
I mean, look cute little French Toast. These puppies are stinkin' CUTE and need your help! If you can't foster or adopt, please share the word!
Thank you all,
Lauren
Austin Pets Alive! is not your average animal shelter. We pioneer innovative lifesaving programs designed to save the animals most at risk of euthanasia.
Hey everyone!
We are trying to make sure we're prepared for this approaching cold snap.
Supplies we could use donated before Wednesday evening:
- Jugs of bottled water
- Chicken or beef baby food
- Human food that will not spoil. Highest priority is canned food like soup, some vegan, some with meat. Fruit will also last in a chilled environment for a couple of days. Heating microwavable meals is a possibility. Snacks!
Thank you in advance for anything you are able to donate!
FYI - We are also canceling all of our appointments for Thursday and Friday. We will be reaching out to you to reschedule if you have an appointment scheduled. Our phones should still be monitored 9am-7pm, but we will have skeleton staff onsite for our hospitalized patients and emergencies.
UPDATE: if you are delivering donations specifically for the clinic, feel free to peek your head in the front door of the clinic to hand them off to us š
Best,
Lauren
Hey everyone!
Our parvo ward is overflowing and we are really needing fosters for our post-parvo puppies! These puppies are now NEGATIVE for parvo and are parvo survivors. They just need some nice homes to hang out in until they find their furever homes!
Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in fostering any parvo survivors.

Tan puppy - Dunn
Bulldog - Amaretto
Thanks all! :)

***LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO BATHE POST PARVO PUPPIES***
This little pup and her siblings finally tested NEGATIVE for parvo today š This means they need to get out of the parvo ward to continue their journey in finding their furever homes. In order to leave the ward, these puppies need a full bath to bathe off any parvo that may still be in their fur. Who would like to volunteer to help us bathe some puppies?! Gowns/gloves/booties provided by the clinic!
Bathing these puppies will not only help them stay safe and expedite the process in finding their future adopters, but it will also help clear space for other (parvo positive) puppies in need!
The clinic parvo ward desperately needs a washer to be donated and delivered to APA! As soon as possible. If you are able to help please call the clinic at 512-466-0720. The puppies thank you in advance!!
Thank you to everyone who has donated to help Toes as he starts his journey to recovery! His chip-in goal has been met, and then some, thanks to the generosity of our supporters!

Toes just arrived at our clinic and needs your help now!
We received a call yesterday from a San Angelo animal hospital about a puppy that came into their car after being hit by a car and abandoned on the side of the road. When they scanned his microchip, they traced it back to us. It turns out that he was adopted less than a year ago, but when we reached out to the previous owners, they said that they had given the dog to someone else and they could no longer care for him. Due to the severity of his injuries and no one claiming him, the animal hospital was going to euthanize him.
Never turning our backs on our animals, we said we would be on our way immediately. We plead transport and someone from our amazing community stepped forward to drive West the four hours there and back in order to save Toes's life. He's now safe in our care where will be monitoring his head trauma and performing surgery to fix his fractured jaw. We need to raise the funds to do these things, as well as cover the costs from the animal hospital. If you can help us give Toes his second chance at life, please donate to his medical fund tonight. We're going to do everything we can to heal this sweat one-year-old. https://www.austinpetsalive.org/donate/medical-chip-ins/toess-head-trauma-care-and-jaw-surgery
Jordana, our Maddie's Medical Program Advisor, recently spoke at the Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center conference and she collected some donations for Austin Pets Alive!. Thank you to everyone who donated!
Give today to Raise A Day For APA! so we continue all the amazing work that happens here in the clinic every single day. We have a goal to raise $24K in 24 hours, the costs of operating just one day here at APA! Please donate so we can keep saving the lives that need us most. We couldn't do what we do here without your support!
Itās never a dull day at the Medical Triage and Wellness Clinic! Operating 70 hours a week, seeing someone from our clinic is the first stop for all the animals in our care. There are many different programs here at APA!, but our clinic is the only one that interacts with every single animal that comes through APA!ās doors. In one year, our medical staff sees, on average, 7,500 animals, ranging from simple intake procedures to medical emergencies.
The medical staff has revolutionized the management of shelter care by using careful budgeting and agreeing to save them all rather than fall back on euthanasia. Give today so we can continue saving all the lives that need us most!
Mrs. Corn is a panleukopenia survivor but her troubles didn't stop there. She also is struggling with Intussusception, which is caused by excessive motion in the intestines which is overstimulated by a foreign body (such as a string), intestinal parasites, a tumor, irritation of the intestine or a viral infection. Surgery is the only way to heal her of this. This little kitten has already been through so much in her young life, she deserves to be pain-free. Please donate to her medical fund so we can make sure the rest of her years are just that. https://www.austinpetsalive.org/donate/medical-chip-ins/mrs-corns-intussusception-surgery
Allie is a striking beauty here at our shelter with her big blue eyes and she needs your help. After arriving to our doors from Austin Animal Center as a medical case, we noticed she was walking with a limp. After some x-rays, it was clear she had a bad tear in her cruciate causing her pain in her joints when she walks. We need to perform a TPLO procedure in order to fix this tear for her. Please give to Allie's medical fund today so she can receive the orthopedic surgery she needs to feel better. We want this sweetie to be pain-free when she finds her forever home! https://www.austinpetsalive.org/donate/medical-chip-ins/allies-tplo-surgery
Hue isn't doing too hot. This spunky guy is typically found in our Feline Leukemia Adoption Center, but he's not feeling his usual self. Please give to Hue's medical fund if you're able. We want to make sure he heals so he can go back to the adoption center to find his forever home. https://www.austinpetsalive.org/donate/medical-chip-ins/hughs-perineal-urethrostomy-pu-surgery
Buttercream isn't doing too well. She has a severe heart murmur that's causing her health ailments. We need to raise $60 to conduct an echocardiogram so we can get a closer look at her heart. We want this cutie to find peace in her forever home, but she needs to be in her best shape first. Can you help fund her medical costs so we can make sure she's good to go? https://www.austinpetsalive.org/donate/medical-chip-ins/buttercreams-echocardiogram
Only $50 dollars left until Kibbibble can get his blood work done. Can you help get us there so we can figure out what's causing his health issues? https://www.austinpetsalive.org/donate/medical-chip-ins/kibbibbles-blood-work

JT isn't feeling too good. He has obstruction of the urethra, which blocks the urine from leaving his body. This can be very serious with male cats, and we need to make sure he has the right care in order to heal him of this. He will be with us in the clinic on medications and fluids, as well having a catheter put in to flush out the blockage. This can be very painful, so we're doing everything we can to treat him quickly. If you can help us support JT so he makes a speedy recovery, please give today. https://www.austinpetsalive.org/donate/medical-chip-ins/jts-urinary-obstruction-treatment
Trooper arrived into our care from Austin Animal Center with a golf-ball sized mass by his right ear that was constantly bleeding. Argus has been having a tough time. He has a pr*****ed colon, which causes it to pop out of place. He underwent a simple procedure to try and put it back but it didn't take. We need to do more of an invasive surgery where we'll attach his colon to the side of his body wall so it can't pop out anymore. It will be a difficult journey to recovery, but we know this beautiful boy will pull through. If you'd like to help him get there, please donate to his medical fund today. https://www.austinpetsalive.org/donate/medical-chip-ins/arguss-colon-surgery
Hendrix is one tough puppy. He's already beat Parvo virus in his short little life, but it's left with a painful abscess on his side. He'll need to undergo daily bandage changes and hydro therapy in order to get rid of it. He's just ready to get better and we're going to help him get there by raising $100. Marshmallow Fluff is as sweet as her name, but sadly the poor girl is suffering from chronic diarrhea. Little baby Lasso is on distemper watch. When this happens with a liter of puppies, all of them need to be treated. Treatment includes intensive vitamin C through IVs as well as each puppy receiving a catheter. It takes a lot of time and money to care for these vulnerable sick puppies to make sure they're clear of distemper. If you're able to give to their medical fund to help them heal and get stronger, please give today. https://www.austinpetsalive.org/donate/medical-chip-ins/lassos-distemper-treatment

This squishy boy had his bladder stones removed this week. He seems to be feeling much better! Hopefully Vanny will be healed up and ready for adoption in no time!
Toaster Strudel has one brave soul. He was caught in a house fire and was able to escape, but the tragedy left him with severe burning. As you can see, the wounds are covering his face and all four paws. He will need lots of pain medication, fluids, and daily bandages in order to heal. It will be a long road ahead, but with the right treatment we know he can do it. And throughout it all, heās never lost his friendly nature. If you're able to donate to this sweet boy's medical care, please give today. https://www.austinpetsalive.org/donate/medical-chip-ins/toaster-strudels-burn-treatment
Tom Pawttyās medical fund is filled! Heās getting his orthopedic surgery today to hopefully fix his legs so he can move on all four again, vs just the two heās using now. Keep this brave boy in your thoughts!
Little Tip isnāt feeling too hot. We believe he has a hepatic mass on the left side of his liver, causing him to vomit and have diarrhea. Weāll continue to monitor the little guy to decide the best course of action for him.
As you'll have seen, we've been working with Plankton for quite some time now. After being involved in a car crash, he was taken into our care. At first, he was completely immobile and cried a lot during the night, clearly frustrated. After some time with his incredible foster family, he was able to move around again on three of his limbs as his herniated disc was healing! Weāve now made the call that the best route for his future is to amputate the lagging leg. If you can, please donate to Planktonās medical fund today. This surgery will finally set him free of his pain. https://www.austinpetsalive.org/donate/medical-chip-ins/planktons-leg-amputation
