Our intention is to impact our community by providing excellent care for the dogs in our facilities, improving their behavior as well as keeping them happy and safe. 🎃🍂 Pumpkin spice isn’t just for humans—our pups can enjoy it too! 🐾🧡 Share this cozy, dog-friendly recipe with a fellow pet parent:

Pumpkin Spice Latte for Pups
🎃1/4 cup pure pumpkin puree
🥛1/2 cup low-fat plain yogurt
💧1/4 cup water
🍂1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:
1. Mix the pumpkin puree and yogurt in a bowl.
2. Gradually add water until you reach the desired consistency.
3. Stir in cinnamon if using.
4. Chill and serve in your pup’s favorite bowl! ☕🐶

Austin Animal Center Volunteer Day!

Our Ta**us Academy crew joined Austin Animal Center for a Volunteer Spa and Enrichment Day this last Saturday! We were able to get over 20 dogs nails trimmed, gave some much needed baths and one extra special pup got a desperate hair cut and feeling like a new boy. Many also got to have a shaded stroll for some fresh air and exercise and of course some extra lovins. All our sites are collecting donations, and we hope you will consider dropping off any of the much needed items to take on our next visit. We hope you will please consider adopting your next pup that is waiting for their forever home! Thank you! Donations Needed: Pet Safe Easy Walk Harnesses, Freedom Harnesses, Nylabones and Kongs, towels, fleece blankets, treats, indestructible toys, pill pockets and anything else that could enrich our shelter pups lives. Peanut butter time

When dogs are outside, there are SO many distractions that they often have trouble focusing for leash walking. Sometimes it's a matter of finding the right reinforcement that will motivate them. If your dog isn't interested in the treats you are using, try spreading peanut butter on a long spoon, and using that as a reward. It can be used as a guide to show a dog how to walk at your side, and the spoon can be raised and lowered again as needed to reward a dog for making eye contact.
