Balcones Springs Stables at Camp Balcones Springs is home to 16 amazing horses. These horses are used in lessons, trail rides, summer camp, and more. Just like every rider is different, every horse is different. Horses are carefully chosen for each rider based on compatibility, rider experience level, and chosen discipline.

Our Story

Balcones Springs Stables was born in 2016 as the name for the year-round horseback riding lesson program at Camp Balcones Springs, which was established in 1993. THE PROGRAM --------------- Balcones Stables is located at the Retreat at Balcones Springs, on the north shore of Lake Travis. Our Retreat offers groups the opportunity to experience multiple activities, including horse experiences and trail riding. Our focus is on relationships, and we take great pride in the care of our herd of horses and prioritizing their health and well-being. Balcones Springs Stables looks forward to introducing an after-school lesson program for Fall 2020, guided trail rides, as well as private trail rides in the near future, so please stay tuned!

OUR TEAM ---------------

Tiffany Janke, Equine Director, has been around horses her entire life. Tiffany and her husband, Thomas, moved to Balcones Springs in April of 2020. She owns two BLM Mustangs, Belle and Nala, that she trained herself and a young Quarter horse filly, Dally. All three horses are at the Stables and will be used by guests in the riding programs. Tiffany has a huge passion for horses and loves competing in competitive trail rides. She has completed her Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Business and Management, as well as her Masters Degree in Agriculture. Tiffany has owned her own horses for 25 years. She was previously the Equine Manager at Sul Ross State University.
