Happy Anniversary, Nicole! 🎉

It’s been 7 years since Nicole joined our Brodie family, but her veterinary technician career began in 1997. With 19 years of surgical experience, she’s become a vital part of our surgery team and has a special place in her heart for our senior patients. Oh, and did I mention she’s the fastest a**l glands espressor we’ve ever seen?

Outside of BAH, Nicole loves gardening, reading, and hitting the open road on motorcycle rides with her partner. She also shares her home with a full house of furry friends—four chihuahuas, two pitbulls, and two cats! 🐶😻🏍️

Dr. Arambula has been a part of the Brodie family since 2017 and took on the role of lead veterinarian in 2023, overseeing our team of veterinarians and ensuring the high quality of medicine we provide to our beloved patients. Dr.Arambula is known for her proactive approach, meticulous attention to detail, and compassionate care. She goes above and beyond for her patients, especially our cherished senior pets. 🐾

Outside of BAH, Dr. Arambula loves exploring national parks around the U.S., hiking, reading, horseback riding, and dancing — whether it’s ballroom or swing! 💃 Her dedication, organization, and professionalism make her an invaluable part of our team. 💚

🎉 HAPPY 37TH ANNIVERSARY DR.WERNER AND BAH! 🎉
Since discovering his passion for veterinary care in high school, Dr. Michael B. Werner has devoted his life to animal health and well-being. His journey began at Ben White Animal Hospital, where he worked under Dr. Miller. After graduating from Crockett High School and earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M in 1979, he explored opportunities coast-to-coast. He eventually dedicated five years to working in a practice in Tampa, Florida under Dr.Murphy where he put in 85-hour weeks between a full-time role and weekend shifts at an emergency clinic. Seeking new challenges, Dr. Werner moved to Houston, where he juggled a busy schedule in emergency veterinary care, often working from Friday to Monday with just a few hours of sleep. Although he loved the intensity of emergency work, he wanted more time with his young family.

In 1987, Dr. Werner returned to Austin and founded Brodie Animal Hospital with just himself, his wife- Stephanie Werner, and his mother. What began as a small practice has now grown to an incredible team of 7 veterinarians, 15 technicians, and a talented support staff who embody Brodie's core values: trust, compassion, integrity, determination, resilience, and excellence. Dr. Werner's favorite areas of practice include dermatology, oncology, and internal medicine, and he continues to expand his knowledge in cardiology.

Outside of BAH, Dr. Werner is a competitive handball player and a mentor. His advice for those looking to follow in his footsteps? Focus on both veterinary medicine and business, and learn from experienced professionals.

This year, Brodie Animal Hospital was honored by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Animal Hospitals, a testament to Dr. Werner’s vision and commitment to patient care. In his own words: “We are incredibly honored to be recognized... This nomination reflects our commitment to excellence and the strong bond we share with our clients and their beloved pets.” 💚

It’s been one year since Arly joined our Brodie family, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have her on our team! Her kindness and intelligence is shown in everything she does, from keeping our shelves stocked with treats and dental chews for our furry patients to managing our lost and found pets wall.

Arly is enrolled in the Vet Vision program, with big dreams of becoming a certified technician, a veterinarian, and one day opening her own general practice in Colorado! She’s eager to expand her skills, especially in caring for cats, dogs, and even farm animals. (Just no reptiles 😉)

Outside of BAH, you can find her out on a hike, exploring new parks, trying different foods, or enjoying time at home with her two adorable pitbulls. 🐾

For two decades, Dr. Martin has been a pillar of expertise in veterinary dental care, performing everything from full-mouth extractions and root ca**ls to crowns and mass removals. Her calm, knowledgeable approach ensures every procedure is as painless as possible, leaving patients in great health. 🦷🪥
Not only is she the best veterinary dentist on this side of the Colorado River, but Dr. Martin’s passion extends far beyond Brodie. For the past two years, she’s been living in Hawaii, volunteering at the Marine Mammal Center educating the public about endangered Hawaiian monk seals and working at the Lana’i Cat Sanctuary.😸🌺
Even though she lives in Hawaii, she visits BAH every quarter. Dr.Martin is committed in the relationships she has created over the years and understands the value and demand of dentistry in Austin.
