Meet Foxy!
What a difference a few days can make! Last week, a good samaritan found this sweet baby dirty, and dragging herself across the ground. She was able to find Foxy's owner and learned that Foxy had been hit by a car 3 weeks before, and Foxy had been paralyzed and dragging herself ever since πβ€οΈβπ©Ήπ
The finder was able to convince the owner to surrender her, and helped network to get Foxy from South Texas to Austin. X-rays showed that Foxy has a fractured vertebrae that was putting pressure on her spinal cord. She had feeling in both feet, but unfortunately, Foxy did not have awareness of her feet and positions which was why she was dragging.
Since being on pain meds and steroidal antiinflammatories for just a short time, Foxy is feeling much more comfortable. She is able to move her legs a little more, but is able to support herself when her feet are placed correctly, which does give us hope for more future mobility π€π€
Foxy is young, only about 2-3 years old and is 7.5 lbs. We are hoping that with the medicine, and physical therapy, we can hopefully get this girl walking better, but most importantly get her healed and pain free!
Surprisingly, Foxy is not incontinent and appears to be potty pad trained and house broken! She is incredibly sweet and very loving! She has already claimed her human foster sister as her new bff.
We are just so joyful about the progress she has made so far, and how beautiful and loving this lil Foxy fox is after everything she has been through.
More pupdates to come!!
