Free spay/neuter vaccinations and microchips for Travis County pets.
"If you feed it-fix it". If you have been feeding a stray cat and want to avoid finding a litter of kittens under your hedge in February, this is the time to get it fixed. 4 month old kittens often go into heat, will mate with any unneutered male (related or not) and end up having babies at 6 months.

Austin Animal Center and Greater Good Charities will offer free high quality, high volume spay and neuter to local pet community of Travis County.
WHERE: Travis County Exposition Center, 7311 Decker Lane, Austin, TX 78724
WHEN: January 8 - 12, 2025
TIME: Registration and drop-off will begin on-site at 7:30 am. and will continue until 10 am, or until the schedule is full each day.
You will remain in your car throughout the process from registration, to drop off and pickup.
All patients will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants must be residents of the City of Austin or Travis County.
All pets must be at least 2 lbs and 2 months old.
Cats must be in secure carriers or traps with a usable door. Only one cat is allowed per carrier.
Please alert staff at the time of drop-off if the pet is known to be currently nursing.
We will provide pick-up information at the time of drop-off and written discharge instructions when your pet is discharged.
If your pet has been vaccinated in the last year, please bring proof of vaccine.

Do you have to reside in Travis County? Will there be a verification/proof of county residency?
Yes, as a tax funded, municipal shelter residential boundaries apply. Please bring an ID or piece of mail with your name and current address to verify county residency.
How many animals are you allowed to bring?
There is no limit on animals per car. Registration will stop once the schedule is filled each morning.
Are feral cats ok to bring in if the cats are in a permitted cat trap and covered?
We encourage people to trap and bring free roaming cats to be sterilized. They must be in a humane trap and covered. The cats will be scanned for a microchip before surgery is performed. If you want to keep your trap cover, please let the check in team know so they can swap for a different cover, as they tend to get lost in this process.
Is the clinic for all five days?
Yes, the clinic surgery days will be on January 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th. If it fills up, return earlier the next day to receive the service.

¿Tiene que residir en el condado de Travis? ¿Habrá una verificación/prueba de residencia?
Sí, al ser un refugio municipal, financiados con impuestos, se aplican los límites geográficos residenciales. Traiga una identificación o correo con su nombre y dirección actual para verificar la residencia en el condado.
¿Cuántos animales se pueden llevar?
No hay límite de animales por coche. Las inscripciones se detendrán una vez que se alcance la capacidad cada mañana.
¿Está bien traer gatos ferales si los gatos están en una trampa para gatos permitida y cubiertos?
Animamos a la gente a atrapar y traer gatos callejeros libres para esterilizarlos. Deben estar en una trampa humanitaria y cubiertos. Los gatos serán escaneados para buscar un microchip antes de realizar la cirugía. Si quieres conservar tu cubierta de trampa, avísale al equipo de registro para que puedan cambiarla por una cubierta diferente, ya que se pueden perder en el proceso.
¿La clínica es para los cinco días?
Sí, los días de cirugía clínica serán los días del 8, 9, 10, 11 y 12 de diciembre. Si se llena la clínica del día, regrese más temprano al día siguiente para recibir el servicio."
