We had our first "Lyme Positive" symptomatic dog yesterday (fever, painful joints) for 2024.

We recommend year-round protection from fleas and tick with preventative oral medication (our recommendation is Simparica Trio). Additionally, we recommend a second layer of protection with Lyme vaccination. Most cases of lyme disease result in what is commonly called lyme arthritis (fever and painful swollen joints). A more uncommon form is lyme nephritis (or kidney disease) that causes a life-threatening protein losing kidney failure. The few cases of this we have seen have resulted in death. We don't think of ticks in the winter but consistent temperatures above 32 degrees F they are definitely out and the small "baby deer ticks" called nymhps are almost microscopic and cannot easily be seen with the eye. Cat People!
Have you noticed your fur baby having difficulty getting around in their normal daily routine? Not climbing up or down the stairs. Hesitates before jumping up or down on their favorite furniture. They may be suffering from Osteoarthritis (OA).

FAIRMONT LOCATION ONLY - On Friday May 5th - We are currently experiencing a significant technical issue with our phones and computers. Currently all phone calls are being routed to a single cell phone and able to use only one computer to access patient information. We have folks working on the issue but it appears but may be some time. If you have an emergency and cannot get through on our phones please just walk in. Thank you for your patience. Extractions, advanced treatment and medications are not included in the package price. An estimate will prepared during the procedure after an oral exam and xrays are performed with recommended treatment for your approval prior to proceeding.
