Stop running or walking in the heat with your dogs, IT'S TOO HOT AND THEY CAN OVERHEAT WITHIN MINUTES AND POSSIBLY DIE!
It's animal abuse and cruelty!

"Why I shouldnt walk and run beside you today. Because I am a loyal dog, I often go beyond my limits. So I walk and run beside you, standing still if I have to. All while I feel my paws burning. Even as little as 5 minutes can be fatal to me and to my paws. My whole body starts boiling, but I’ll keep going because I am as loyal as loyal comes. I depend on you to know what’s in my best interest. So instead, let me stay at home where I can enjoy the sun, with a large bowl of water, somewhere in the shade. Please share.
Know the signs of heat stroke, it can save a life.
The temperatures are extremely high and heat stroke can happen within minutes.
Please keep your dog(s) inside and don't walk or run with your dogs during these high temperatures. Always carry cool water with you.
Paws2Paws wants everyone to spread the word and help educate about the dangers of heat stroke. I always carry cool water bottles in my car and will stop to help any pet or person that is in need.
I would like to see how many people would like to volunteer with me to start this program that I started a couple years ago. Let's spread the word and keep Austin and other cities pets safe and cooled down.
