Rachel has been going to the Zoom Room, which we call school and learn at home which of course is home schooling. She’s doing very well at both places. She’s very smart. Here she is learning to tell me that she loves me using talking buttons.

A few years ago, I switched to in home dog care only. Bailey was my last dog walking client.
I had been visiting Bailey for 10 years, sometimes every weekday, sometimes just a few times in a month. I loved her and she was a good friend to me. She was a good listener, if you know what I mean. I'm really missing her. She passed away this week. I got one last chance to see her on Monday.
I love you, Bailey. I will miss our Mueller adventures together.

It's been 3 months today since Penny died. We all miss her!

Penny died today. She was sick for a few days and we knew she wasn't going to get any better. She had a quiet, peaceful death at home surrounded by all of us who loved her. Although I am certainly sad, I am also grateful for all the time we had with Penny. She lived a lot longer than most French Bulldogs live. In fact, I had been grieving her and worrying about her dying once she turned 10, which I've heard described as anticipatory grief. Then at one point a few years ago, I changed my thinking and decided to stop worrying so much and focus on my time with her. This is something Penny taught me to do. She taught me not to worry so much.

She turned 15 last month and we had a quinceanera for her. She loved all the attention. During her party she went around and greeted all the people and all the dogs. When she turned 13, we had a Bark Mitzvah for her. She was always super social and a lot of fun. She loved to bark at animals and especially dogs on TV, even if they were cartoon dogs. She also perked up whenever she heard the theme from "Little House on The Prairie" because of all the horses on that show. She knew that when the theme song started, she was sure to see some horses. I could say to her, "Do you want to watch the horsie show!" She'd get very excited.

We adopted her from the French Bulldog Rescue network on April 7, 2012. We met her on April 1st of that year, which became her birthday because we didn't know her exact birth date. April 1st was a good birth date for her because she was so funny! She instantly formed a bond with our other Frenchie Gigi (2009-2019).

One my favorite things she used to do is she would wave at you when she saw you. What I mean, is she would stick her right paw up in the air and it did really look like she was waving at you. She would also get so excited when she saw someone, dog or person. She was curious and friendly toward every dog and person that she met.

She and Gigi are the dogs that are on my Lone Star Leash Services logo. She really was the ambassador to my business, helping new dogs adjust by being so welcoming and friendly to all the dogs. I know that if Penny could speak, she'd say that she loved her life with us and we, of course, loved her deeply. It's hard to be home without her, but I'm glad I got to spend so much time, 12 years, with her! I will always love her and never forget her. She always made me laugh. She had a "movie monster" type of bark when she would get excited. I will miss all her little quirky & funny things she would do.

I love you, Penny!

Here's a fun flashback video from 2016 with Penny. You can see how excited she gets when she hears the Little House theme. Missing Penny today as always!
