Solara was looking for her “forever person” and after being deemed likely “Un-Adoptable” due to age, health issues, neurological issues, and a presumably troubled past, I adopted her because she was a match 100% for a dear friend and long time client who was told HE was too old to adopt. Screw that. They are the world to each other and she great! She has hair now, eats only the best, gets acupuncture to heal her pain, aromatherapy everyday, and massages. Loves her Dad and is getting the best! ❤️ Happy second holiday and Solara! ❤️

Our Story

I’m Tiffany McCalla, aka The Dog Chick! I have loved animals since as long as I can remember and have been training and caring for animals professionally for over 13 years. I began my career at Triple Crown Dog Academy (now know as Starmark Behavior Center) after graduating and getting hired on as a full time trainer in the Retriever Department. There I cared for, trained, and ran 100’s of dogs in AKC and UKC Hunt Tests as well as trained family and rescue dogs in the obedience department. I have experience in service/therapy dog work, agility, scent work, rally and competitive obedience, trick training, and animal behavior modification among other disciplines.

I opened up and ran a retail store & dog training and daycare center in South Austin for several years. I currently train all over South and Central Austin privately as well as host events around town, have pop up group classes, work with some of Austin’s favorite rescues, pet sit, walk dogs, and generally just have a great time doing everything animal!

My goal is always to improve the bond and communication between you and your animal companion. All of my training is centered around exactly what you’re looking for as there is never a “magic” formula for every dog or every family. I care for my daycare, pet sitting, and walk dogs as if they were my own and have earned a reputation as part of the family with many of my clients.

My 11 year old daughter enjoys helping me train and walk dogs and has been my favorite assistant since she could walk. She runs her own dog washing business named after our former shop, The Furr Factor.
