It has officially been 6 years since Vinnie and Camille became owners of Your Dog's Best Friend! 🥂
Alot of you may not realize but they are a big part of the community. From helping to get a dog park opened in Avilla to always donating certificates to different fundraisers, supporting local businesses and much more. They have big hearts for people and animals ♥️
There have been numerous upgrades at the kennel in the past 6 years making things better for guests in our care and easier processes for employees. Ensuring we give top notch care to all our guests!
Vinnie and Camille aren't your normal "bosses" or "owners" that you may despise at your job. They will step in and help when needed and always make sure you know you are appreciated for your hard work. There's been occasions where dogs in our care have been ill and they've done everything possible to make sure they were cared for while their owners were away. You can't get that treatment everywhere!
I could go on but I will just end by saying, they are great people and amazing leaders. We are absolutely lucky to have them!
Love you guys ♥️ thank you for all you do. We wouldn't be the same without you 💓

Many of you know our lobby kitty/receptionist Slayer... we'd like to introduce to you our newest member in the running for employee of the month, Sunni! ☀️
She isn't full time in the lobby just yet but you may occasionally start seeing her as we slowly introduce them to becoming best friends/sisters 🐈‍⬛️💜🐈💜
Please remember to use caution if your pet doesn't like cats and to close our door because we don't want anyone to escape!

We have had a lot of customers ask about this recent canine respiratory illness we've been hearing about on TV or across the internet so we'd like to share this nice little fact sheet with everyone.
There have not been cases around our area specifically that we have heard of, but just in case it's good to know the symptoms and catch them early, just like when we humans catch a cold and start taking the proper action.
Similar to taking your kids to school or adults going to work or anywhere publicly, we can catch a cold or flu, so can our pets. Sometimes no matter how hard we try, right? We all know how easily things can spread.
A few things we do here to try to help prevent are: we do not let dogs of different families out to socialize together. We also have air purifiers throughout our kennel and sanitize anything a pet came into contact with before another pet comes into contact with it, thoroughly. However, that does not always 100% guarantee that someone can't get sick, just like humans. Especially when a lot of these illnesses are airborne, all they have to do is breathe in the wrong direction (which is why we have air purifiers to help with this).
We also recommend trying to avoid grooming appointments elsewhere directly before boarding to ensure your pet didn't catch anything it can spread to our guests, same with dog parks, daycare and playdates. It's important as well to make sure your pet has up to date vaccinations well in advance so they are protected and to not bring your pet to public areas/boarding if they have been showing any symptoms. Just like when your child is running a fever and stays home from school, or you home from work.
As always if you have questions and concerns it is best to address them with your furry child's veterinarian who knows the most about your pets health 🐾🩺❤️
