Crate training is the first step to a happy, secure, and safe pup!
Bentley came in HATING the kennel ❌. It was an absolute no go for him. He was breaking out of his kennel at home and becoming extremely destructive. His mom went out and purchased him a Dakota kennel which is now keeping him in the kennel while she’s gone, however getting him in was still an issue.
Here he is about to head home from his program going in his kennel on his own and not immediately bolting out.
Great job Bentley!
Lady took on Barktoberfest with trainer Meagan on Sunday and did exceptional for only being 4 days in to her board & train.
Great job ignoring all those distractions Lady!
Layka is about halfway through her two week board & train and she’s doing awesome!
Today she took on Lowe’s and did amazing. Layka came to us with some severe nervousness and would often pee when she felt threatened. Through obedience training we have worked on building her confidence in new environments and situations.
Keep up the good work, pretty girl!
Running into the weekend…

Let’s talk training dogs with disabilities…
Is it different? Yes! Is it impossible? Heck no!!
Ruger here is a 5 month old English Setter who is fully deaf right from birth. Many people might ask, how the heck do you communicate with a dog who can’t hear anything?!? The same way you talk to a person who is hard of hearing…sign language.
Many of my clients are used to hearing me say we can teach a dog obedience to any word as long as we teach them the definition of that word. It’s the same with sign language. As long as we teach the dog the definition of the hand signal, it’s the same as us speaking to them.
At only 5 months old, Ruger here gets to enjoy an off leash life because of his hand signal training and the use of a mini educator Ecollar to be able to communicate with him from a distance.
Have a dog with a disability? Want to get training, but don’t know where to start? Give us a call today or shoot us a message and mention this post about Ruger to get 10% off ANY of our training packages for your pup with disabilities!

How do we handle 3 (4) month old St. Bernedoodle puppies at once?!?
Well…training.
Remember, these pups are all littermates who are here for training at the same time. While they are adorable and cute and we would love to do nothing but watch them play all day… they need manners and boundaries. Watch as trainer Meagan does individual callouts into a duration down on place!
Good job kiddos!

Drop off day can be scary for clients. They’re dropping off a member of their family for 1, 2, or 3 weeks.
Let’s take a look at what happens on drop off day when you first leave.
Mack just got dropped off for his 2 week board and train. He’s got a lot of energy and even more ball drive. Trainer Meagan utilized the tennis balls to build a bond between the two of them, but also start implementing structure in with his play.
Play will be utilized during his entire stay with us, but even more on drop off day to make sure he settles in flawlessly.
Look at that tail always wagging!
