In 2017, I decided to leave the corporate world and attend Catch Canine Trainers Academy and earn my Professional Dog Trainer and Behavior Certificate (CCPDT certification). While I worked vigorously getting my Dog Trainer certificate, I opened Bee's Dog Service for business in May. W

e started with walking, hiking, running, and photography, and now offer Professional Dog Training and Behavioral Services. My Pets:

In 2014, we rescued a Aussie mix named Lexi, from a shelter in CT. After adopting Lexi, I decided that my passion was dogs, I love learning how to communicate and train her, as well as loved getting her outside for hiking or a run. Not only did I enjoy the exercise but I could tell she was acting better and seemed overall happier. In 2016, we rescued another dog, a Doberman Shepherd mix, named Rue. My family and I worked really hard on training her properly and giving her plenty of exercise, as she was a rescue dog that came with behavior issues that stemmed from her critical stages of puppyhood. Early in 2018 we brought home a Border Collie named Murray and are currently training him in agility, bikjoring, canicross, and more! In the beginning of 2022, we brought home two more Border Collies. We knew we wanted a female Border Collie and went and visited Minerva. Drago was Minerva's grandfather. He had recently been attacked by his pack and was up for adoption. We didn't even hesitate for a second and said we will take him home too! Both Minerva and Drago have become a huge part of our family. Minerva is currently training to take over for Lexi, as Lexi is going to be 9 soon and will be ready to retire in a few years. Drago has taken to our daughter Madison, sleeping in her room every night. Madison is currently working on building his confidence with solo walks and training fun. We also have a cat, Bodey! We are passionate about our animals and my clients are our family. We treat your dog as if they are our own. We are proud of what we offer and our services! We love what we do and we love Dogs! We look forward to hearing from you and meeting those fur babies! Thank you,
Bee

How to Desensitize Your Dog to Fireworks or Loud Noises

Sound Desensitization 101:

Helping your dog feel calm around fireworks takes time and patience — but it is possible. Here’s how to start:

🔉 Start with Low Volume
Play recordings of fireworks or bangs at a very low level, ideally in a separate room or from a distance. The goal is to keep your dog under their fear threshold — calm and curious, not panicked.

🍖 Pair Sounds with Positive Reinforcement
While the sounds play, reward your dog with high-value treats, a favorite toy, or a chew. You’re creating a positive association with the noise.

🔊 Gradually Increase Volume
Once your dog is consistently relaxed at the current level, slowly raise the volume over time. Never rush this step — go at your dog’s pace.

⏱️ Keep Sessions Short & Consistent
Multiple short sessions each day (5–10 minutes) work better than occasional long ones. Consistency is key to lasting results.

✅ Always End on a Positive Note
Finish every session while your dog is still calm. Ending on a win helps build confidence and trust.

✨ This process takes time — often weeks or even months — but it’s worth it. Go slow, stay positive, and don’t be discouraged by setbacks. You’re helping your dog build lifelong resilience. 💛

🎆 4th of July Dog Safety Tips! 🐾

Fireworks and festivities may be fun for us, but they can be scary and even dangerous for our dogs. Keep your pup safe and stress-free this 4th of July with these quick tips:

🐶 Keep Dogs Indoors
Fireworks can cause panic and lead to dogs running away. A safe, quiet space indoors is best.

🎵 Use Calming Sounds
White noise, fans, or music can help drown out the scary booms.

🆔 Collar + ID Tag
In case your pup bolts, make sure they’re easy to identify and return home.

🔥 Watch the Grill Zone
Be mindful of dropped food and hot surfaces—they can be tempting and dangerous.

🚫 No Human Snacks
Onions, chocolate, alcohol, and more can be toxic to dogs. Keep human treats out of reach!

🌡️ Stay Cool
Heat + stress = a risky combo. Make sure your pup has access to shade and fresh water.

🌿 Help Them De-Stress
If your dog struggles with firework anxiety, consider natural calming aids like CBD chews. Head over to for support TODAY!!

I’ll be uploading a video tomorrow on how to desensitize your dog to fireworks and other loud noises. It’s a process that takes time—often months—but it’s never too late to start the training.
