As Mr. Gomez finishes his time with we traveled to new place to test what he has learned with us. Exposure to new place and environments help to build confidence along with the foundation of what behaviors are expected. . .
As we clean our resident working dog Deaks outside kennel, he gets to hang out with Gomez. Hopefully Deaks can pass along some pointers.
Pugtastic day with Mr. Gomez, back to for more exposure where he did phenomenal and then to for extra credit. Amazing to see the growth from just one day. If there is anything you can do for your pet dogs, get them out and expose them to anything and everything.
Mr. Gomez had a field trip today to and did great for first time. Socialization and exposure to varying environments are so important to a dog, the more you can get them out in increments they can handle, overtime your experience with your furry family will become more enjoyable for both you and your dog.

We use the vital 24k for all our board & trains, the large kibble makes it easy to pay. Everything we do in training the dogs are working for reward so it makes it easy to feed them. In my day job at sheriffs office we exclusively use for all our working dogs. &train

This is so true from your pet dogs to all the working dogs, you owe it to your dog to put the work in. Your relationship will be better.
As we finish up our training with Ms Mercy, we wanted to get her to some government environments since she will be working for a county government. She did great, even took a seat behind the bench.
Took Ms Mercy to an award presentation tonight to honor Deputy . Couldn’t be more fitting since he connected and her owner. She did an amazing job and will make a great therapy dog.

Mercy spending time in place working up to an hour. Place allows you dog to clear its head, relax and puts them in the mind set ready to work once released.
Jack is back!!!! Jack was one of our first pet clients and did phenomenal during his 3 week board & train with eCollar. Included in the B&T service are follow up session. We are doing Jacks as his mom and dad get a mini vacation. Glad to have him back and his mom and dad did a great job keeping up on what he learned from us in February. We are really just doing a refresher to make sure Jack keeps on track.

As Winston is finishing up his time with us we went on another field trip to to challenge him with a lot of distractions and other pets. Winston’s behavior was in tact and was a perfect gentleman. When they know what is expected of them, our ventures out with our pets can be quite enjoyable.
We welcomed Ms Mercy to PawGuardK9 today for a 3 week board & Train with eCollar. She a 1 yr old yellow Lab here to kick start her training to be a therapy dog for the Owen County Corners Office. We will put a solid foundation of manners and obedience to continue her training for her future service. Look at that smile.
We took Winston on a field trip today for socialization and exposure. Now that he knows what behavior is expected of him, Winston can start going out and displays good behavior.
Max and Winston worked together on down stay in place tonight. Both are doing phenomenal, Max goes home tomorrow and Winston has another week, I’m sure he will miss Max.

Winston’s field trip to Lowes.
Working on long down stays with all our board & trains is an important part of our regiment. Learned this long ago from @vanessk9 for my working dog and use it all the time for our pet client. Max is doing wonderful 30 min in. From @vanessk9 earlier: “The power of doing nothing. Many of you k9 guys out there are struggling more than you even know. Your dogs never settle in the car or pace in the kennel when not at work. Long periods of down stay on a dog bed can clear up so many mental issues with your dog. Working dogs are good at doing a lot of things but they suck at doing nothing. So on your off time don’t think you need to “burn off” his energy with fetch non stop. Instead making him lay in a down for hours doing nothing. He will learn to self regulate. We call place the “behavior savior.” Remember guys; dogs are like men. Feed us and tell us where to be and it’s a great life.”
Tonight we worked Max and Winston together on down stays/place with a lot of distractions. Both boys did phenomenal.
One request that Winston’s parents asked was that we work on brushing with with all that fur, he didn’t liked to be pampered much. We as you can see he got over that and enjoys it.
Winston is doing awesome. After 2 days we are working on no leash. Max is in background as a distraction with no worries from Winston. This foundation will lead to the recall for Winston’s owners.
Feeding time is a time for Charlie to work. High drive dogs love to work and can be fun and simple. You can see how much fun Charlie is having. Take the littlest things and and turn it into an opportunity to train your fur baby.
Charlie is able to go for walks completely off lead with eCollar recall only. It’s amazing to see this little guy gain confidence while still having the ability to communicate with him at a distance.
Did we just become best friends? Ozzie went home last night but was a tremendous help with Charlie who had little to no socialization and low confidence. The importance to socialization cannot be underestimated.

Charlie is picking up quickly with basic healing and sit with little to no leash pressure. Feeding time is work time, dogs learn much better if they know they have to work.
