Pet Connection Cat Rescue Shelter near Avonmore, PA, is looking for a dependable cat lover to help care for our feline friends! 🐱

What you’ll do:
-Feed and water the cats
-Clean litter boxes and tidy up
-Sweep, vacuum, and help with laundry

-$12 per hour 💸
-Work Tuesday and/or Saturday mornings (4-hour shift starting between 7:00-9:00 a.m.)
-Must be 18+, have your own transportation, and be able to lift 25 lbs.

Pet Connection would like to thank each and everyone of you that donated on this case! 💕😘.
We went to this location yesterday, but due to confidentiality, we could not go “live”.
Pet Connection DID rescue 5 cats from this situation! 🐾💕

We are currently working with the Arrmstong Co Humane Officer, as well as another local shelter, to secure the payment for spay/neuter surgeries for the 5 remaining cats that will remain with this owner. ♥️♥️🐾🐾
Your donations to PC also gave us the funds to immediately schedule the surgeries for the cats that we did take in from this situation. 💕🐾

This case has now been resolved!! These cats now have a bright future to live out their lives without contributing to the over cat population. Again, we couldn’t have done this without your support.

We are going to this location tomorrow morning at 10am.
We will assess the situation and bring back as many cats as we feel that our shelter can handle. Our hope is for other shelters to join us with the rescue of these cats. So many shelters are full right now and just can’t take in anymore🙁. If nothing else, we hope to work with other volunteers and get them transported for spay/neuter surgery which would, at the very minimum, stop the breeding.

WE NEED YOUR HELP for us to rescue any of these cats!

Without support we simply can’t take any of these cats. So sad for the outcome of these precious beings. We can only help what we can afford to help.
Below is a video of a case that the Armstrong County Humane officers are dealing with. The humane officers have no where to place these cats if shelters don’t step up to help. They are reaching out to local shelters to help them in this case.
Pet Connection is willing to take in a couple/few of these cats but they will need much medial care. FelV/FIV testing, vaccinations, medications for fleas and intestinal parasites, ear mite treatment, then ultimately a spay/neuter.

We are overjoyed to share that thanks to the incredible generosity of our faithful donors, we have reached the necessary amount to schedule our beloved shelter cat Delmar for his much-needed dental work! Delmar’s surgery is set for Wednesday, August 21, and we are so relieved to know that he will soon be feeling much better. Your support means the world to us and to every cat in our care.

In 2022, a kind citizen found a 4-month-old cat, now called Delmar, seeking shelter under her trailer in Delmont, PA. Pet Connection took him in, but now at 2 ½ years old, he hasn't been adopted and is struggling with caudal stomatitis, causing him to lose weight and not eat well. For a permanent cure, he needs full mouth teeth extraction, costing $850–$1,300. NOT ONE DIME OF YOUR DONATION IS EVER WASTED
Lakat update: After working hard to get her eye ulcer to heal, we learned that Lakat had a condition called Entropion.
“Entropion means that your cat's eyelid margin has 'flipped' over and as a result, the hair is now rubbing on the surface of the eye (cornea). If you know how it feels when you have just one eyelash in your eye, then you can imagine how your cat must feel with not just one but many hairs rubbing on the surface of the eye”
Surgery is the only fix for this. It is called Entropion surgery.
Today Lakat had Entropion surgery to repair her lower eyelids from ‘flipping/curling’ into her eye. This will stop the discomfort that she felt of having fur constantly rubbing on her eyes.
She is only 7 hours out of surgery so there is some expected swelling going on. Once she heals completely, her eyes will feel so much better!
The pictures that I am posting below show her eyes right after surgery, with the expected swelling. If you look hard at the bottom picture, you can see her lower eyelid. That was the goal of this surgery.

She is still recovering from the anesthesia. I hope to post her progress in a week or so.

Lakat update! ♥️♥️🐾💥Her eye ulcer is on the mend! Lakat had her weekly checkup with the veterinarian and she reported to us that her eye is healing! We will continue her eye meds for another week and then another check up.
We got this!!! Thank you all for your well wishes! It means so much to us.

Lakat, an 8 year resident of our cat shelter, has developed a deep ulcer in her right eye. We are going to try like hell to save her eye. Various eye meds and pain meds for the next week then a recheck with the vet.
If all is good at the recheck we continue the protocol for 2 more weeks. If not, she will need to have her eye removed.
Send us your best wishes as we fight to save her eye.
