TEDx Punta Gorda ~ 10/12/24

The co-organizers of this TEDx event are Dr. Mary Ann Markey and Dr. Angelia Williams. We will be posting periodic updates, our Call for Proposals from Speakers, invitations to join our teams who will be helping us to plan this event as well as to be present during the day of the event itself. Speakers can provide demonstrations and activities for audience engagement in addition to presenting "talks." Our concept for TEDx Punta Gorda is the "Engagement of Everything" across categories, such as science, technology, entertainment, business, and design.

I just received my orchid shipment from Dr. Kenneth Ramsey who is an expert in growing orchids and plumeria. The plants are beautiful and I am very much looking forward to growing orchids again. This story just appeared on my social media radar, and I admit as a Biophilist myself, it is extremely upsetting. Grant Haber cutting down 32 of his neighbors' trees to gain a better view of the Manhattan skyline elicits an entire list of adjectives in my mind for such reckless behavior. Here's the link:
