Fairy Dogmother is a small dog rescue whose dogs come from death row, or have been otherwise homeless, hungry, lost, injured, sick or at risk of being taken to a kill shelter where dogs surrendered by their owners or caretakers can be and often are put down the same day. Kill shelters are not required to give those dogs a chance to find new homes. Therefore, FDM offers a shelter alternative for sm

all dogs surrendered by owners no longer able to provide a home or care for them, deceased owners and dogs with disabilities or special needs. Before being offered for adoption, FDM's dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, have been checked for heartworm, are treated for parasites and fleas and are on monthly heartworm & flea preventive.

ADOPTED IN GEORGIA! Phoebe, the CollieDoodle, has gone home to Columbus to be a service dog. She now has a lab brother named Chance and a family of accomplished dog trainers 😀

UPDATE ON GEORGIA CHIHUAHUAS! They arrived safely and are settling in nicely. Resting, relaxing, eating, drinking, pooping, peeing. It's all good. Many thanks to Tina & Greg Johnson for volunteering to drive 6+ hours round trip to save these little guys. Thank you too to the others who offered as well. I'm going to let the shelter know that if any of the other three are returned, Fairy Dogmother wants them too....

ADOPTED IN ALABAMA! Bella has gone home to Leeds AL to mend hearts broken by the passing of a dearly loved rescue dog named Maggie Rose. I had a WONDERFUL visit with Papa and his sweet daughter. They were enchanted with the spirit and energy of Fairy Dogmother as soon as they stepped out of their car. They loved the dogs, they loved the horses, they loved this magical place I am so lucky and fortunate to have found for the rescue so many years ago. The adopter held out his arms to Bella and said, " Come to Papa", and she did just that. It was love at first sight for everyone. The MOST AWESOME FOLKS FIND US HERE IN PODUNKVILLE AL WHERE MAGIC AND MIRACLES HAPPEN EVERY DAY.... ❤️

ADOPTED TOGETHER IN ALABAMA! Lola (right) and Sissy (middle) have gone home to Birmingham with their family that includes Sissy look alike, Gigi (right). Sissy and Gigi even have the same voice that sounds like a goose honking. LOL, loading this trio for the trip home was like a three ring circus. Sissy especially was deliriously happy to be going HOME....

GUESS WHO GOT ADOPTED and went home to Athens AL? Rio, the Chiweinie on the right, that's who!!!! Rio, the sweetest of little dogs, saw a lot of Fairy Dogmother dogs get adopted while he waited for his forever to find us. It happened and it was well worth the wait! It always is.... ❤️
