Fairy Dogmother Rescue & Rehab Fairy Dogmother Rescue & Rehab is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to making good things happen for dogs in need.

Fairy Dogmother is a small dog rescue whose dogs come from death row, or have been otherwise homeless, hungry, lost, injured, sick or at risk of being taken to a kill shelter where dogs surrendered by their owners or caretakers can be and often are put down the same day. Kill shelters are not required to give those dogs a chance to find new homes. Therefore, FDM offers a shelter alternative for sm

all dogs surrendered by owners no longer able to provide a home or care for them, deceased owners and dogs with disabilities or special needs. Before being offered for adoption, FDM's dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, have been checked for heartworm, are treated for parasites and fleas and are on monthly heartworm & flea preventive.

R.I.P. ELLIE MAE. She came in Sept 2022 and was a greeter here at the rescue. Ellie was happy and had a good life here but it wasn't the same as a home and people of her own. I've lost count of the people who loved her and said if they could take two dogs, they would take her too. She jumped in open doors hoping to stowaway with the "chosen" dog. Another dog was always chosen, smaller, cuter maybe, popular breed or mix maybe, not many people want a beagle or Godforbid a "bird" dog, a dog who wasn't here for two and a half years. People would ask "What's WRONG with her"? Not a thing! Ellie was house trained, loved to ride, loved everybody--two legged and four legged. She was only three years old. Medium size. Her super short, slick, sleek coat didn't noticeably shed. I'd like to blame the crappy economy, but Ellie's adoption fee was $300, while all those dogs mentioned above had higher adoption fees. The best part of Ellie's life was being a Fairy Dogmother dog. She transferred here from another rescue who received her from their vet when her people brought her in to be euthanized. We never figured out why that happened. It hurts that sweet Ellie Mae died still waiting on a home of her own. I found her in her favorite doghouse today. Looking like she laid down for a nap. Not a mark on her. Her fairy dogmother loved her, but it wasn't enough. It couldn't make her a ShihTzu or a doodle mutt, only an unpopular Beagle mix girl.....R.I.P. Ellie you truly were the best of dogs....
