Doodle Breed and Doodle Mix Clients Please Read- Raising prices for all Doodle breeds !!!
Why?
My business has became almost an all Doodle clientele , which is much appreciated and I love all my doodles I groom ,I do not discriminate against their breed but that being said this is why for my business I have to make changes
Doodles take 3 hours + to save any length of coat they have , 2 + hours ,doing a shave
A. 1 + hour to prep, brush, shave paw pads , potty areas , nails clip and buff , pre clean ears , shave inside of ears , clean up around mouth and eyes , pre cut any length that needs to go , or shave for summer cut, this is all doing so while they prance like deer and barley fit on the tables
B. 30 mins to wash and ring out and shammy any extra water to cut blow drying time
C. 1 hour + to fully dry coat for finishing cut , little less for pre shaved
D. 30 mins finish cut, clip body , feet again , mouth , face , head ears tail .
E. 15 mins to pluck ear hair if they allow it
F. This time is based on the perfect groom no Matts no working the coat no issues with behavior, which is very seldom this happens
This breed has to be brushed daily ,and correctly with the right tools , I can not continue to keep working coats out for clients in one groom session ,itās just not manageable
, I am loosing so much time each day ,Im unable to take on any new business, which means I can not grow , Iām loosing so much money trying to be nice and work these coats out for the clients that I didnāt set correct prices for these large hard to maintain dogs at the beginning when I was new # my fault not yours
These type of grooms are hard on all of my equipment. My blades run hot daily and dull fast , Iāve replaced pieces on my tables multiple times from the size and pulling of this large breed , and replaced clippers from behavioral issues . This is all part of running a business ,as a groomer and owner I want no one to be uncomfortable bc their dog had a bad day, it happens dogs have bad days just like humans . I just need to make a change to start charging accordingly for the maintenance , patience and time they require.
Growth of a business is learning ,this is just basically me learning how to run my shop , what is working and what isnāt working, fixing it ā¦.and keeping my business going and successful.
I will be charging $50 an hour as of now for any doodle breed or extra large double coated dogs
Preexisting clients I will discuss charge increasing with every one independently bc I want to work with you on preexisting amounts I have already set , I appreciate all of my clients and the business you have brought me . I want to work with you to satisfy your needs as well , but there will be an increase for time and coat conditions.
Iām sorry for any of my clients that this upsets I understand my new prices are not going to be convenient for everyone and understand I may have some clients relocate , I will be willing to help you find a new groomer if this is the case .
