Hey everyone. I have a few horses up for consideration! Please reach out with any questions or for more pictures, videos, and info on whatever horse you’re interested in. All horses are located in Baker City Oregon

•Gemini is a strikingly gorgeous grulla pinto filly out of South Steens, who is coming 3 and currently about 13.3 hands. I expect her to hit about 14.1-14.2 and fill out lots. She’s got about 10-15 light rides on her and is doing extremely well. I could see her being a kids horse in the future. Ready for her person to take her further! Asking low-mid X,###

•Wynona is a beautiful bay out of South Steens, who is coming 6 and 14.3 and stout. She is highly intelligent and athletic. She will make the most amazing horse for someone. She’s got solid ground work and is ready to be started under saddle. She will need an experienced and kind handler and could excel in just about any direction! Asking low X,###

•Pegasus is a handsome buckskin gelding with the sweetest soul, out of Palomino Buttes, who is coming 3 and around 14.3. I expect him to top out around 15.3. I believe he was stepped on as a foal and in result has a pretty severely crooked back right leg and OCD in both hocks and his left stifle and arthritis started in his right hock. He currently moves completely sound and is 100% comfortable and happy. I’m looking for a pasture pet home for him. Ideally no riding or occasional pony rides for kids. He’s got the personality to be a kids horse so it’s a real shame that he was dealt the cards he was. Price is up for discussion. Good home is a must and the most important thing

•Honey is one of the most stunning red horses I’ve ever seen. She’s out of Warm Springs, coming 9 and 15.2 and stocky. She’s super broke and done just about everything. She’s been a lesson horse for the last several years. She started her career as a lesson horse as a 3 year old only a couple months out of the wild, foaled, and then became a lesson horse full time. She’s had riders as young as 6 and takes care of her rider. She’s sensitive and kind. I have zero need to get rid of her and would happily keep her. I would only part with her to the very best home. Asking low Xx,### and she’s worth her weight in gold

•Caliber is a wonderful sorrel registered QH stud c**t who is coming 2 and probably about 13.2. I expect him to top out around 15 hands. So far he has shown to be kind and trainable as well as incredibly athletic and talented. I expect him to make a phenomenal show horse. I have big plans for him so don’t need to get rid of him but would if someone offered me the right amount of money. Think high X,###. His pictures aren’t current but I can absolutely get some if interested. The most recent where he’s tied are from summer

Let the games begin! The palomino mare is a 4 year old out of Palomino Buttes and the Dun is my clients horse and she’s 3 and out of Stinkingwater! So excited to get my hands on these gorgeous girls! 😍

Mid week update on few horses just because I’m so proud of them 💕

*Atsa has been making such steady and fast progress. He is pretty much the picture of perfection. He tries so hard all the time to be a good boy and due to that is so so close to his first ride. He flexes so softly and willingly. He allows me to step up into the stirrup and lay over his back without even batting the eye and being so relaxed and confident. He lets me jump up and down like a crazy women all around him without a care, and moves off stirrup pressure to do haunch turns and forehand turns with ease. I sure do love the super handsome, big boy 🥰

*Boone has been such a good boy, especially today. He never took a single misstep or made a wrong thought today. He’s getting so quiet and so consistent. I originally worked towards softness and responsiveness with him to get a quick thinking, willing and ready to be molded into a good boy, and am now working towards “dulling” him out and doing lots of desensitizing in hopes that he can be “fool proof” essentially for his owners in hopes that they will have a super quiet, level headed horse who is more woah than go that you can safely do just about anything with. That’s exactly what they’re looking for and I plan to make him just that.

*Birdie is officially a riding horse! Birdie had her first ride on Monday and we achieved a super nice and quiet, free moving walk as well as a bit of trotting. By the time I asked her to trot she was tired and ready to be done so we didn’t do a lot of it. Just a couple circles worth really. She gave me beautiful haunch turns and forehand turns as well as soft backing and steering. I’m super impressed with her as this was only her third training session since sitting in a pasture for a year! She overall had a very good first ride and I’m looking forward to getting her super broke and solid.

Training horse update:

-Wynona and I took 7th overall at Teens and Oregon Mustangs. We took 4th in showmanship, tied for 6th in body conditioning and 7th in trail. I’m so incredibly proud of her. She did end up coming back home with me and will continue her training while in search for a new home. If you’re interested in her, please message me. I would love to find the perfect forever home for this mare. She’s a really great mare.

-Eagle (now named Atsa) sold to a wonderful lady who lives in Utah and will remain in training with me for 90 days. So far he has already made so much progress and we’re not far from his first ride at this point! He saddles like a perfect gentleman, flexes both ways softly, has had me step up into the stirrup, lunges walk/ trot/ canter softly both ways, is super respectful of body language and moving away from pressure, has gotten so so much softer in the face, is desensitized to the flag, fly spray, and being hosed down, and has had his first bath within the last two weeks. He has gained so much confidence and is happy to be caught and go to work each day. I’m looking forward to getting him ridden here soon

-Boone has been making leaps and bounds of progress. He’s had many rides now and is feeling more and more broke underneath me. He walk/ trot/ canters both ways with smooth, soft transitions, haunch turns and forehand turns nicely, backs softly, steers softly, is learning to lift his ribcage in small circles at the walk and trot, slows or speeds up his trot easily, has been doing great with being hosed down after rides when sweaty, and is learning to smile. He’s turning into quite the goofy character and is moving more and more towards having an “unbothered” personality. With him being naturally more sensitive and reactive that is a huge step for him. I’m very proud of his progress

-Silverado is coming back into training after having some time off and has come back even better than where we left off. He’s had his first bath in his 10 years of life and looks and feels absolutely incredible! He has always felt very greasy and gross and feels like a plush stuffed animal now. It’s wonderful. We’re working more on desensitizing to random things and not overall just getting back into the swing of things and he’s doing impressively well. He is already even so much quieter than where we left off and I’m excited to continue and see where things go. Silverado is also available for sale. If you’re interested please message me for more information or to come meet him.

-Birdie is back into training after a year of just being a horse out in the pasture and she’s doing absolutely incredible. She has picked up right where we left off and is already ready for her first ride. This will likely take place today! I’m so pleased with how well she’s retained everything.

Stay tuned for more updates coming soon! And if you’re interested in getting your horse into training with me or starting lessons, please reach out. I’d love to get your horse in and/ or elevate your horsemanship!

I just want to show off this beautiful girl for a minute. I know she’s downhill and she’s definitely smaller than I would have hoped for but ugh is she gorgeous or what?! She’s 3 so could still possibly grow, but regardless she feels really big when you’re on her. I sat on her today for the first time ever. Today was her first ever real training session not including halter breaker her as a foal. She did incredibly well. I’m a little bit obsessed 😍😍😍 for anyone who doesn’t remember or recognize her. This is Paris. Lacie’s first baby (hoping to get another one made next year) and she’s by Brennas Golden Dunit. I’m so impressed with her and the horse she’s growing up to be 💕

Wynona has honestly blown me away today. To say I’m incredibly proud of her is an understatement 💕 she worked her tail off to be so quiet and with me for her very first class (trail) even though it was her first time in the arena and seeing the scary stands and everything in her told her to be afraid. The bulk of our bobbles were my fault, including forgetting to untuck my pants from my boots 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 Then we went into showmanship afterwards which, while it certainly wasn’t her best, she still did pretty good. It felt a lot worse then it looked and I was feeling a bit bummed by the judges inspection and she could clearly feel that and didn’t want to stand due to that. I 100% take blame for that and looking at the video I’m actually overall happy with her go. Then we went into body conditioning and she was nearly perfect! Stood great for the vet to inspect and for me to pick up her feet, was good and quiet for Josh to catch her, and loaded and unloaded beautifully. This mare is really truly something special and going to seriously amazing for someone. Please contact me if you’re interested in adopting her on Sunday!

Wynona makes more and more progress daily and we’re starting to feel pretty prepared. I’m super excited to see everyone and do my best with this beautiful mare. I hope she finds the best home. She deserves it. Again, please pm me if you’re interested in this pretty girl. I’m excited to see all you wonderful competitors so soon!

Miss Wynona and I are starting to feel more and more ready for next weekend. While I certainly don’t expect to be in the top placings by any means, I’m starting to get so excited to go show where she’s at and see everyone! She’s been conquering more and more obstacles every day. I’m so proud of her and how hard she tries. She’s so smart and so kind. I have several videos to post so keep your eyes out for those! Regardless of what happens next weekend, I will be proud of her. I’m hoping she finds her perfect home. Someone who’s kind, clear on their intentions when training and willing to break things down for her. She’s can excel quickly at things if you take the time to break it down first. I think once her fear is primarily gone she won’t need that step anymore and we’re getting very close to that already. Due to me not having had anywhere near as much time as I had intended for her, I am offering one month of training for half off. Starting the first I will be able to devote full time hours to training again and can give her the time she deserves if her adopter would like to go that route. I really like this mare and would love to continue to be apart of her journey and get her to where I planned on having her at this point. If you’re interested in her, please message me so we can discuss whether she could be a good fit for you or not or if you have any other questions please.

This girl is going to be sooo cool! She learns things so quickly and tries so hard to do well. I’m really enjoying my time with her and someone is going to seriously luck out purchasing her. She will make someone’s dreams come true! I only just taught how to soften her head and tip her nose the halter during the haltering process today and you can see how well she’s taking to that. Even with people other than myself. This is my student catching her for the first time

Miss Wynona is making impressive strides in her training! I’ve been able to get some more time in with her and she’s basically a professional at haunch turns, forehand turns, side passing, and backing now. She’s also now gotten desensitized to the saddle pad and packed it around like a champ. I was planning on just showing it to her and she kept giving me green lights to progress and go the next step further. She’s getting to be so confident and comfortable in her own skin which she wasn’t for some time. I’m excited to see where she is by the competition. Someone is going to be getting a super special and talented horse!

Division: Adult In Hand
Horse Age: 6
HMA: South Steens
Estimated Height (hands): 15
She will be available at auction! Don’t miss out on this gifted and beautiful mare!

A good reminder to check air quality and consider what your outside animals are breathing in. Fire season started early this year, and we have at least a month to go.

Wynona has made great, steady progress with the small amount of time that I’ve had for her. She can have all four feet cleaned out easily, is a bridge and mattress pro, can trailer load, haul and back out of the trailer with ease, ties like a pro, and has been brought over to my training barn so is now getting used to an indoor arena, a busy way of life, and all the things that come along with that. She’s proving to have a pretty good head on her shoulders. The majority of time she thinks before reacting and the times she does react she comes back down quickly and gets right back to work like it never happened. She’s been loved on by a few people other than me and here very soon I’ll start having people work with her also so she’s prepped for the auction following the competition. She’s going to make someone an amazing horse. She’s talented, kind, brilliant, and highly athletic with an amazing build. Someone is going to strike gold with this mare. She will need an experienced handler and someone who is gentle and kind. If this sounds like you and she sounds like the type of horse you’re looking for, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or to come meet her!

I’d like to introduce everyone to this beautiful mare that I call Wynona. Wynona is a 7 year old South Steens mare and she and I will be competing in Teens and Oregon Mustangs this year. She’s more on the dominant side on the exterior, however once she settles and starts to think, she’s very sweet and absolutely brilliant. We’re currently in the adult riding division, however I’m not 100% positive if I will have her ready for that by the end of August. Trying to balance new mom life and my work life has proved to be more difficult than I had anticipated it to be and as my personal project she has to take last priority in the horse training aspect. But with that being said she has made great progress for the amount of time that I’ve had for her. She leads, backs, lunges, does haunch turns and forehand turns, can be brushed all over, has been desensitized to a leadrope, whip, and rope. She has quite a bit of fear associated with her poll area, but isn’t actually sensitive to the touch of the poll or ears. She just expects the worst with movements above her eye level, though she’s made tons of progress with that and I can even throw a rope over her head and around her neck with her remaining quiet. I expect her to be a really amazing partner for someone. She will be available at the competition so please message me if you have any questions or would like to meet her!

I’d like to introduce everyone to this months training horses and mule! This is my first month back to training after having my sweet baby boy and it’s been nice to have such cool animals in training!

Let’s start with Mr. Teddy! Many of you may recognize him. He’s getting his first rides this month and then as long as he’s going well and solid, he will go home. He’s come back into work as good, if not better than where we left off! He’s such a fun horse to work with! He’s ready for his first ride and we will put that on this week for sure! I will post pictures and videos at that point!

Next is Silverado. Silverado is a stunning 10 yr old silver bay pinto mustang. He came in with TIP training. He has such a wonderful brain and personality. He’s sweet and quiet. So far he’s been taking to training nicely. I’m really impressed with his brain and how quickly he learns. It takes once or twice to do something and then he’s got it! I’m super excited to get him going under saddle. He’s going to be a ton of fun!

Next is Ellie. Ellie is a 14 year old grey thoroughbred mare. She was started under saddle many years ago but has sat for a long time so I am starting her over just to check for any holes. She’s definitely got some nice training in there under all the “dust and rust” as I say. I imagine I will be riding her by the end of the month as well. I expect her to excel quickly. She’s super sweet and tries hard. She’s a barn favorite.

Last but not least is Miss T the mule. Miss T is coming two and in for getting her solid in ground manners, solid and respectful handling of the feet, standing tied quietly, her independence and laying down. She’s already making good progress on her ground manners and standing tied quietly. Then she will come back next year to be started under saddle. She’s a big and beautiful girl

11/14/2023

Here’s a compilation video of Teddy’s progress. He’s come a long way from fearfull and reactive, to putting in his best effort to be responsive and quiet as well thinking before reacting. He’s so close to his first saddling and first ride!
