Acting as both a wildlife rehabilitation center and zoo, CALM exists to educate the public on the amazing flora and fauna that thrives in California. Admission:

This past Saturday, an amazing group of students from Wonderful College Prep Academy rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty to help with some much-needed grounds work!

Because we are unable to use pesticides in certain areas, w**d removal has to be done by hand— a tough but essential task. Their hard work made a huge difference, and we are beyond grateful for their time and effort.

We are beyond grateful to Raising Cane’s for their incredible plush puppies campaign during the holiday season! Thanks to the amazing support from our community, they raised an incredible $2,424 to support our mission.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there! Starting TODAY, Raising Cane’s is launching a brand-new campaign in honor of their golden birthday, and net proceeds will come directly back to CALM! Head to any Raising Cane’s location to purchase an adorable golden plush puppy and make a difference.

All proceeds raised from this campaign will go directly toward enhancing our Coyote habitat, creating an even better space for these amazing animals.

A BIG THANK YOU to PG&E Employees!

We are incredibly grateful to the wonderful team from PG&E who dedicated their morning to helping us plant much-needed vegetation in our mammal round, around our coyote habitat, and shorebird area. Their hard work and enthusiasm made a world of difference in enhancing these habitats.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community and the donations we’ve received, we are thrilled to announce that we are making some exciting enhancements to our coyote habitat! These improvements will provide our coyotes with an even more enriching and comfortable environment.

During this time, our coyotes will be off exhibit and behind the scenes while we complete the necessary maintenance. We appreciate your patience and support as we work to give them the best possible home.

Spring is in the air, and we’re excited to share that Cinnamon and Louie have officially emerged from their torpor! They are still waking up and may continue to rest until they are fully awake, so they are not quite as active as they are in the summer—but they’re slowly stretching, exploring, and getting reacquainted with their surroundings.

This was our pilot year for their torpor period, and we’re thrilled to say it was a great success! Your patience and understanding made this possible, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support of our community.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We can’t wait for you to see these two as they settle back into their routine. Stay tuned for updates, and come say hello to Cinnamon and Louie this weekend!

It is Tooth-Thirty and Dental Day!

Did you know that Veterinarians are not only doctors, but they are dentists too?! Animals receive the exact same dental care that you and I would get.

Thanks to the support of The Wonderful Company, our Wonderful Wildlife Care Clinic is well prepared and ready to handle any dental need, including dental radiography, tooth extractions, and cleanings.

Pictured below, you will see our Vet Team giving one of our San Joaquin Kit Foxes, Franklin, a tooth extraction; an x-ray for one of our Bobcats, Rufus; as well as our animals giving voluntary open mouth behaviors so the team can look at their teeth.
