Maverick Update!
Maverick had his 4th, and last, hemangiosarcoma surgery on his shaft! We are incredibly blessed to have found this vet by chance and that she was able to do a surgery we were previously told was not an option. This will hopefully buy the big boy some more quality time as there are no signs of it spreading yet. 🙌🏼 During the removal of the lump shown above, she also removed a red birthmark like tumor from the other side along with cauterize a bunch of smaller ones. Maverick was pretty swollen and sore for a few days before starting to feel himself again. He is a trooper though!
The second thing is his arthritis and back end. When Maverick arrived, I thought he was just stiff from the trip. During Jethro's quick decline I noticed Maverick getting worse and walking with his back end slipping & wobbly. When running, he had a side gallop and would trip over easily and fall. He was shaking and walking while pooping as well. We got him in where they ran bloodwork and did reflex tests. Bloodwork came back clean, but his toes curled and took some time to go back. He started on 30 days of carprofin where I saw slight change. Thanks to for recommending adequan injections, I asked our vet and got that started May 21st!! He gets them each Tuesday & Friday right now, and then we can hopefully move to monthly. The improvement I have seen seems unreal! Not just in his physical health, but his mental health ❤️😭 Maverick isn't falling over anymore. He isn't shaking while pooping. His reflexes seem better and he isn't sliding when walking around the house! He is happy and baying again now too!

Maverick made it. Dazed and confused, but made it home and is recovering. He slept the rest of the evening, so I will get video and pictures if he let's me tomorrow. I'm trying to think of ways to keep him cool since he can't get wet. We have $600 to raise to cover his surgery. I know I haven't been active, especially now with the tornado (check Highlight reel if you missed the craziness), but any amount helps so much ♥︎ and I appreciate it more than you know.

Plum had an appointment set for next Friday. Unfortunately, she has not been feeling well and the issues with her medications only exacerbated her current state. Plum gets picky with food regularly and her foster always switches things up by adding and mixing things to get her back on track after a day or two. Her foster called me and said it's different this time 🥺. Her cardiologist is getting her in tomorrow at 4pm. We need to raise $700 to cover the minimum of her normal blood work, draining, and medication bill. This is not included any xrays, anesthesia for a larger procedure if needed, and the sore that showed up on her foot last night. This is extremely urgent. Plum is so strong and has been doing so incredibly well given her heart failure diagnosis. Please donate if you can. Please share. Please tag. We are running on donations and are not able to leave a running tab at our vets like others can. This bill has to be paid tomorrow at the time of her appointment.

There are so many words, so many emotions, so many pictures, and so many videos. Here are a few from the beginning to the end. I used to always say he slid in the grass like a baseball palyer sliding into home. He literally ran and slid face first incredibly far lol. I can't help smile knowing he is doing this again ♥︎
I didn't feel right not posting as many of you find out from tags. I also have so much saved to put together, but need time to gather my thoughts. If I even can. I can't wait for you to see his 7yrs with us loved by all.

We are at the vet with Maverick and are in need of funds to cover his office visit, blood panel, and xrays to see what's going on with his legs as well as to see if the cancer has metastasized. 🐾MEET TILLY🐾
Tilly is a 5week old little cow pup 😉😍 Let's welcome her to the BMWB family. Did you guess it? Be honest lol.
Tilly's Story:
Two college girls were at rite aid in Pismo Beach, CA when a couple approached them and said "can you take this puppy to the shelter? We are traveling and she is to much work." They gave the girls their leftover powder goat milk they were feeding here and left. (Let's not focus on why a 4 week old puppy was away from mom or how these people just had enough. Good people helped her get to safety) The girls had only fostered kittens, but knew their neighbor had dogs so asked her to take it. The neighbor started contacting every rescue she knew as well as the shelters, which is only by appointment and the soonest appointment was May. In a last effort she reached out to our veteran foster who's daughter is on her waterpolo team. They picked her up and took her to our local vet in Bakersfield, CA where they gave her a quick look and aged her with feeding instructions for her. She is on gruel now and doing well! Tilly is strong, fiesty, and playful ♥︎
I know the timing is rough, funds wise, as we already committed to her before Jethro took a drastic turn. I trust my team and she will have a place in their home no matter how long it takes to find her forever family. Maybe she was supposed to come to us to add a little joy. I created a wishlist for her and funds are needed for food, vaccines, and her spay.

AZ ➡️NM➡️TX
This was a long one. Jethro was picked up Saturday morning in Arizona and they made it about 2½hrs into Texas late last night. Jethro is having an extremely hard time with everything and more so in the crate where he can't see anyone. They switched him from crate to riding on a bed which helped a little. Their daughter is next to him so he doesn't panic as much. He looks for his walking partner every potty break for comfort and help navigating 🥹 Jethro is pretty much all the way deaf now and he can only see shadows. Last night was also rough for him. When I woke up to check messages, she said he wasn't doing well again. Praying for calmness for him and over the family transporting him as all dogs can be effected by the stress making things a little more difficult. Sookie is already stressed trying to escape her crate any time it is opened, so the whinning and barking doesn't help her. This family teamwork is everything we needed for our bunch of misfits. They know dogs. They have learned from past mistakes. They know OUR dogs. They are patient trying to work with each one through the stress while I'm sure trying to hold onto their sanity as well lol. Ya'll are amazing Dye Family. One more day!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Jethro spent his last day with his foster going on an old man walk and getting more spoiled...if that is even possible! Thank you, ,for loving him like your own, making him a part of your family for 8months, and including him in all your daily activities ♡ I can tell he felt right at home watching your kids grow and getting table scraps. With his age comes accidents and boooiii did he turn you into a professional cleaner and you could care less because you loved him like I do. I can't wait for our OG of 7½yrs to get here!

You might get tired of hearing this, but I am so incredibly grateful. My mind is at ease knowning Maverick and Sookie are in great hands. Trusting someone with our dogs is always hard, especially after my one and only professional transport experience was horrendous so I haven't done one since. This, though, multiple dogs in a new and over stimulating situation...while being reactive dogs. Knowing they are in experienced and capable hands with the bonus of receiving picture updates. OUR match and YOU ALL made this the best possible scenario. Thank You Dye family for keeping them safe on their trip ♥︎

Thank You & for fostering and boarding Mav & Sookie Sookie for the past 9months 🥰 treating them like your own and loving them just the same. I am forever grateful because the process wouldn't have been possible or as smooth without your generosity to open your home to two reactive dogs with a house full already. Ya'll are the absolute best for taking them on and I appreciate you guys more than you know. You forever have a connection here in Texas if you ever need one 😊

Plum's appointment went well-ish again. Changing her medication amount has held her numbers steady. Her weight is the same as her last appointment two months ago!!! This is a huge win!! A raw egg am/pm, oats, and weight gainer(when donated) have helped keep her stable ♥︎ She has got a little more fluid in her abdomen, but not enough to tap her to drain it yet. Her vet said most likely at the 6 month mark she will need it and then we will go from there. Her bill was the straight forward $250 per usual, but I have yet to receive an invoice via email. I always post our bills for transparency purposes, but they had a new receptionist who couldn't quite figure it out yet. We have $235 left to raise to cover her cardiologist appointment and she could really use oats and weight gainer off her amazon wishlist.
Thank you for all the love and support for Plum on her up and down journey. She is still living life to the fullest seizure free, chasing shiny objects, sunbathing, playing with her foster siblings, and enjoying snuggles on the couch.

PLUM UPDATE:
My apologies for this being so late after her appointment. Plum's appointment went pretty well considering her stomach growth. She weighs 35lbs and is holding it around there. Plum's stomach is growing, but it's not due to fluid. (Though she did have a tiny amount). It is due to her liver growing. The vet did adjust her meds and lowered the dosage of atenolol to make her heart work a little harder to get rid of the fluid. As you can see, her quality of life isn't hindered at all! Plum's family has given her the best home and care through all her heart ups and downs ♥︎ She goes back in two months for a recheck. $250 receipt at end of video because we always share where your funds are going.

JETHRO UPDATE:
Our sweet 'ol Mister Man is doing absolutely amazing in his foster home with and her family who has been loving him like their own. He loves to snuggle on the couch and take naps with the little ones in the home. Jethro gets lots of yummy treats (many from his bestiem the little boy) as well as short walkies/romps around the yard before tiring out and heading back in. His meds arrived yesterday, so he will remain comfy in his senior-ness ♡ Swipe all the way for the receipt for his bill, which was $281.56.

SOOKIE UPDATE:
Sookies fosters & took her to the vet on their day off to make sure they went over all of their notes and information regarding how she has been acting/feeling even though she seemed better now. Better sage than sorry. The vet did a full exam as well as bloodwork to see if anything was off. I got the call that her bloodwork is all completely normal! 🙌🏼 During her exam, he only notated that she has very minimal tartar and a grass allergy, but otherwise seems like a healthy gal at 7½yrs old. No xrays were needed and her fosters will continue her regular care with some pumpkin topper to her food.
This is great news!! Sookie's fosters and I were terrified of what was going to show up. Thank you everyone for sending love her way!

‼️URGENT‼️
THREE MEDICAL BILLS DUE & MAVERICK'S BOARDING!
Plum is at her two month cardiologist follow up right now. She has lost 5lbs and weighs 35.5lbs now. 😢We are worried about what this means. Her bill is usually around $250 unless she needs to be drained then it is around $450.
Jethro just got an order placed for his arthritis pain management. The last bill was $200 so I am waiting for the phone call saying it is ready for pickup with the exact amount. They are working and his foster mom can see the difference in his step and personality on bad days made better with them ❤️
Sookie's fosters reached out and said she isn't her normal self. 🥺For those of you who don't know Sookie, she has never mellowed out since we got her. Her personality is spazzy, energetic, and an extreme wiggle butt. More like wiggle body lol. Her fosters know her well and something is definitely off. She is calm, walking slow and well on leash, not jumping, eating slow, and just looking at them with eyes of something is off. She has an appointment Jan. 22nd at 9am to be seen for bloodwork & xrays. Estimating $450 dollars.
Maverick's January boarding is due $200.🦈

PLUM UPDATE: My apologies for this being so late after her appointment. Plum's appointment went pretty well considering her stomach growth. She weighs 35lbs and is holding it around there. Plum's stomach is growing, but it's not due to fluid. (Though she did have a tiny amount). It is due to her liver growing. The vet did adjust her meds and lowered the dosage of atenolol to make her heart work a little harder to get rid of the fluid. As you can see, her quality of life isn't hindered at all! Plum's #fospice family has given her the best home and care through all her heart ups and downs ♥︎ She goes back in two months for a recheck. $250 receipt at end of video because we always share where your funds are going. . Happy 11th -ish Birthday Jethro aka Mister Man aka our OG!! Jethro has been with us for 6yrs which is 2,196 plus his stray hold. . It seemed only fitting he have the same cake song for his cake as my husband and I did for our cake when we got married ♥︎ We love you Jethro . I am still holding onto hope that someone will adopt this boy and give him the best last year of his life. He has helped us help so many dogs and it is his turn to be a spoiled couch potato.
