On my way to pick up our girl! She was not happy I left her there and kept trying to pull to leave with us instead of the vet tech 🥹 no news is good news, right!?! I always get antsy with surgeries no matter how many we have been through.

Can you tell we are a little shocked by the estimate at first. Swipe ⬅️ to see. Then we realized the reason Maverick's surgery was $200 less was because his wasn't sent to pathology since we had it done with 2 out of his 5 surgeries.
For Cassie, I estimated $500 for all (forgetting about pathology) and wasn't far off. This unfortunately doesn't include a heartworm test $30, heartworm prevention $159.99, and annual vaccines $80. That brings us to $775 on the low end. We used $100 for the first appointment, so we have a little extra ro raise for her surgery on March 24th. Thank you for getting us this far in such a short period! I know we can get the rest of the way because ya'll are so amazing 🥹🥰

Sound up in the beginning for Cassie's cute snores lol. Gosh, she is the sweetest ♥︎
First off, I want to THANK YOU for the love and support of our senior gal in need! I am beyond grateful for your kindness and always coming through for our dogs (and us) when we really need it. 🫶🏼🐶🐾 Thank you for the prayers and good vibes for her. Please keep them coming her way.
Cassie has had this tumor for 5 years and saw two vets at separate offices while in Bakersfield, CA who both said it was nothing to need removal unless it chnaged. Well, it started growing. Our vet went to take a biopsy, but got blood the first draw. After it drained, he was able to go in a second time and get the tissue sample. After looking at it under the microscope, it wasn't completely clear yet also wasn't a clear cancerous sample and he was not comfortable with the results. Hopefully this means we caught it early! The office was extremely busy for any same day care and is booked 2½ months out so he is squeezing us in on March 24th to get it taken care of quick. They will be sending over an estimate for her mass removal, pathology, and senior blood panel. She will also get her heartworm prevention as well as vaccines. As soon as I get it, I will make a new post for her with it like usual. Her bill was only $94 so the rest will go towards her surgery, which I'll update as well.

We have raised $0 of the $500 for Cassie's to be seen on Monday for her tumor that has started growing 💔 no amount is too small. I know times are hard and rescue is hard for so many. I see real big rescues struggling and think "How can we continue, if they are barely getting by?" Our dogs are with us for life and rely on us to be there with them to the very end. I take it to the heart and want to do our very best as they deserve so much.
Cassie came to us at 7ish and is about to be 12ish this year. She has always been great with dogs of all sizes too. How she didn't find a loving home is shocking, but so glad she has us! Meaning YOU and us to love, spoil, and give her what was almost taken from her. We appreciate all you have done and continue to do for our hospice and long term dogs. And we love everything about you, Cassie 🥰
Cassie is coming up on 12 and I noticed she is getting a little sore in her hind legs. Don't get me wrong, she is still sprinting in spurts and enjoying all the rolls in the grass. Her comfy bed inside definitely helps too!! We'd like raise funds to get some bloodwork done as well as check her back legs and all her lumps and bumps. None have grown since our previous vet said no removal was needed, except the one on her throat. We need to get her in asap in case surgery needs to be done because that is booked a couple months out. I don't want to mess around with this as it seems to affect her now. Our vet said we can come as a walk in on Monday since even appointments are booked up too far out for something like this, so that's what I'm going to do. My goal is $500 to cover the visit, xrays, bloodwork, and her yearly heartworm prevention while there. Please help us raise the funds for Cassie. Having seniors means more bills as they age. Having medical means more bills as well. Could you please help us keep our crew of misfits happy and comfortable for the time they have left with us🙏🏼🐾

Cooped up for a few days due to extreme cold so 30° wasn't too bad! Sookie had a fun romp with fetch burning some energy after the snow melted. I hope it makes you smile like it did me.
I broke out the plyo boxes for training and she brushed off her skills.
Sookie hasn't found a ball she has wanted to play fetch with in a while, so a practice baseball it is.

I've been stuck in the day to day of cleaning, feeding, and rotating, so I almost missed this special day of giving that helps our rescue more than you can imagine. We can't take on new dogs due to our current dogs taking all available spaces. This makes raising funds extremely difficult. It also makes creating content about them difficult as well, but our dogs still need medical, food, and preventative care.
Our dogs are loved and safe for their entire life 🐶❤️

Maverick is a senior hospice sanctuary dog do to his reoccurring cancer & lameness getting worse in his back end. He is our handsome goofy overbite king who has been in the rescue for 4 years. He is woooing A LOT in his old age and we love it ♥︎
Sookie is a long term foster of 5 years due to needing a very specific home with no other animals. Her cute size and face make people not take us seriously and they think they can be the ones to change her ways. We are still hopeful!
Cassie is a sweet senior girl who has been with us for 4 years. She is slowly "losing it" in her old age. Her best days are spent carrying around a stuffy All Day Long ♥︎

I know it's hard to stay invested in our dogs when we have had them for so many years. Today was a good day.🎶
Maverick got a nail trim & a good brush because this moody weather has the dogs shedding like crazy! I bought these gloves after seeing them online and they are so good. Messy, but so easy. I forgot a before and after, but what a difference! Maverick loves it, too. ♥︎ After many discussions, we have come to the conclusion that Maverick will become a permanent hospice foster under the rescue and not be available to adopt. We are open to local fosters in the Temple, TX area so that we can keep up with his monthly injections and monitor his cancer regrowth. I am sad, but also know he has been loved and given a second chance with us thanks to all of you fighting the fight with him all these years.

Congratulations Holloway family and Tilly on your happily ever after 🥰 From gas station giveaway pup to loved beyond belief. It was ment to be. Tilly's mama had her eye on her for some time and was able to meet her while her new dad was fighting fires. While Tilly's foster went out of town they also temp fostered her which helped with getting everyone under one roof schedule wise (fire season) to meet Tilly. We also love that Tilly has not one, but two, BMWB Alumni cousins!! So happy for you, Tilly ❤️
Well, our first adoption since I moved, but my team member, and Tilly's foster, did a great job. We stuck to our adoption process with only a few learning curves since I obviously wasn't there in person. Thank you Adelyne & Broc for being so patient ♥︎

Just a little hard of hearing 😉 and I also let him do whatever he wants when the kids are at school. Our dogs need their yearly check up. Maverick & Cassie especially. We are here to help all breeds, support the community, as well as assist overcrowded shelters with the goal to save as many lives as we can. Information on where to go for low cost vaccines, spay/neuter, training, and micro-chipping are all items we offer.
