This is what a typical well demolition with explosives looks like.
Not stuck anymore!
We rescue drill rods too.
Sometimes, achieving proper perforation requires a heavier core load than normal. This raises the potential of over pressuring the stemming weight exponentially. To provide adequate safety from flying material and to keep the mess at a minimum, a backhoe bucket makes a fantastic blast mat. No gopro’s were injured in the making of this video.
Earlier last week, we provided the perforation services for Maggiora Brothers Drilling at the future home of a Google Data Center. This project was another high flow artesian well in Sunnyvale California. Once again SCVWD chose to use the blasting method to ensure the sealing of the well permanently. This was a 16” x 700’ well. It took 32 yards of sand cement slurry to finally control the artesian flow and another 8 yards to fill the casing for detonation. Once perforated, the cement level was measured at 60 feet below grade and falling.
What’s the fastest rehab service for your plugged up water well? SoniClean! The fine gentleman at Northstate Electric and Pump in Chico California did the hard work of removing and installing the pump. I did the 30 minute rehab. Bang bang and your client is back online. No brushing, no chemicals, no waste disposal needed.
We were on the site for a total of two hours because this was a shallow well, deeper sets will require more pump removal and install time.
The service was last performed on this well about 4 years ago, and we will probably do it again in another 4. Give us a call for estimates and availability and as always, stay classy.
Sometimes we get asked to perforate at 5 foot below grade. If it's safe, we will do it, but this is usually what happens.
Recovered 200 feet of drill stem today.
