Another 8 lucky pups headed up to Washington this morning, along with the 12 that left yesterday to Hollywood and 23 on Wednesday. Thank you the LaBelle foundation, Tobies small dogs, and Pibble and All Paws Rescue for helping us save all these lives. Here are some pics of some of the lucky dogs. And thank you to all our Amazing fosters, we couldn't do it without you! We are blessed to have some of the most Amazing fosters and volunteers!! It's been a busy week!

Help us help more like this sweet little girl that we just picked up. Her back legs are paralyzed but that isn't going to stop her from fighting to have a great life and we won't stop fighting for her or all the others.

Last Monday we got an urgent call in the evening to get a newborn from Bear Valley to one of our tube feeders in Bakersfield.
This baby was born with double cleft lip and pallet and was not gonna make it if we didn’t act fast.
Sam, Krystyana and Dawn managed to get an amazing Uber driver, Phillip, to take a crate from Bakersfield to Bear Valley and bring the baby back to Bakersfield so Krystyana could tube feed.
We are happy to report that not only is he alive, he has gained weight and is thriving with
Thank you Phillip with for saving this pups life and Krystyana for always saying yes to help the team!

Another day out on the streets of Bakersfield Vaccinating and microchipping dogs with AKIDO street medicine team.
We went to a few new locations with Dr Patel’s team and Microchipped 4 dogs and got emergency contact info to register 5 more dogs that were already chipped and we vaccinated 6 dogs.
Slow and steady we are gonna microchip them all so it’s a faster process to get the dogs returned to owner when impounded.
We have found that many of the owners have a freind or contact that can hold the dog for them so we can keep these dogs out of the shelter.
Huge thanks to Heather and Haley with for joining the team today and .inc for providing the microchips.
We always need help with clerical type things so if you can spare a few hours each week to help please reach out to us.

Another great mornings work microchipping and vaccinating dogs and a couple of cats at St. Vincent de Paul.

We have been vaccinating dogs with Clinica Sierra Vista Street Medicine team and other local outreach programs for over 2 years.
Adding microchips to help keep animals out of the shelter and returned to their owners fast is our latest project. We are confident this will speed up the process of return to owner.

61 animals fixed today by in our target zip codes! (The zips where 80% of shelter intake comes from and have the lowest income levels) Huge thanks to the amazing SNIP Bus-Spay Neuter Imperative Project staff who show up every day and work their butts off, Dr. Flynn and Dr. Darrow for getting all these animals spayed and neutered and DoorDash for delivering the nugget festival. Teamwork does make the dream work and we are chipping away at getting as many animals fixed at each clinic. We also vaccinated 8 puppies and an adult pittie when we delivered Diamond back to her owner this afternoon.

Rafael was a very last minute add on from the shelter. As we were picking up a lot of dogs from two shelters we were asked if we could help this boy.
He was in medical as his tail had to be removed after some idiot thought they could do it themselves with rubber bands.
So thankful that Dr Eller and her amazing medical staff were able to save him and we begged for him to go too.
Fortunately for him Lorin Thomas was able to take him and he’s heading off to Canada 🇨🇦
