I’m not here to help you fix your horse. I’m not here to help you get a job done with your horse. I am here to help you change yourself and learn to become more effective at discerning what you should be asking of your horse. Only then can you begin to build a relationship that encourages him to start to trust your judgment. When this is in place the need for fixing doesn’t exist. You will then st

art to realize:
Things like desensitizing and redirecting don’t work. That running a horse in too many mindless circles is in fact a control strategy used which eliminates allowing the horse to have a choice. That disengaging the hindquarters is a skill necessary to potentially save your life but one that teaches the horse nothing and when done too often takes away his dignity. That bending and flexing 99% of the time takes away from straightness and balance. That straightness and balance give back to the horse instead of taking away. That straightness and balance mean the world to him. That there is only black or white not right or wrong. That gray creates confusion for the horse. That the horse has no ego and neither should you when working with him. That everything is connected and the same. That you must trust your horse AND yourself . That you must have faith that the horse will give you back 100 times more than you ever imagined when you earn the right for him to trust your judgment.

In the aftermath of the destruction and devastation so many people have suffered from the recent storm, it is often difficult to remember to find something to be thankful for. On this Thanksgiving Day remember all those who have suffered, seek meaningful ways to help them, and above all gather with family and friends never forgetting to love, enjoy, and cherish them all. Be thankful for them. Eat, drink, and be merry!

I sincerely thank everyone one on the RPH team, all the clinic hosts, all the clients whom I consider family and friends, and for my family members that allow me to pursue my passion with people and horses. Happy Thanksgiving! - Robbie

What an incredible 4-day Immersion in Equine Relationship Development with Robbie Potter at Jonesborough Equestrian Center! From deepening the participant's understanding of their horses to unlocking new levels of communication, this event was truly transformative.

Huge thanks to Ryan and Cyndi Brackett at Trinity Farm for hosting an amazing 2-day Obstacle Clinic this past weekend!

We had a fantastic time working through a variety of challenges, improving communication, and building stronger relationships with our horses. The welcoming atmosphere and supportive environment made all the difference, and we couldn’t have asked for a better group of riders.

Robbie will be returning to Trinity Farm on April 13, 2025 for a 1-day "Intro to Obstacles" clinic and we'd love to have you join us!

This year was the 20th annual Fjords & Friends Fun Fest in Blowing Rock, NC! Robbie has been teaching clinics at this unique and FUN event for 20 years! Since this was a special year marking their 20th anniversary, the RPH clinic was offered only to owners of the breed that this event features - the Norwegian Fjord horse. It is not about desensitizing your horse but about building a relationship with your horse. So, at the peaceful 400+ acre Springmaid Mountain Resort outside of Spruce Pine, NC Robbie Potter Horsemanship hosted their first Obstacle Course Competition. Day 1 of the clinic emphasized that relationship between horse and rider and Day 2 emphasized the competition through 10 well-placed and challenging obstacles. Horses were divided into 3 classes: 2-3 yo, 4-6 yo and 7+. The competition was fierce and the obstacles, beginning with the beautiful North Toe River, were tough. A talented group of horses and riders participated in this educational competition! A special thank you goes out to all of the volunteers and judges that made this event possible!
