🐾 We love them enough to save them from terrible conditions they did not ask to be in.
🐾 We love them enough to nurture them back to health even if it means sleepless nights and around the clock care.
🐾 We love them enough to show them that not every hand that touches them will hurt them.
🐾 We love them just like we love our own pets.
And then… we let them go…because even though we love them… we know we can not give them everything they deserve.
Though we love them differently.. it does not make it any less meaningful or impactful. 💙🧡

Sushi, formally known as Celeste is an amazing example!
She is loving her new life with her mom and we are celebrating at BSAS! 🎉
Sushi came to us as a stray in desperate need of help. She was lost and scared when our amazing ACO managed to get her off of a busy road and into the safety of our facilty. When she arrived, she was malnourished, terrified and unsocialized. We worked tirelessly to show this girl that it was okay to be a puppy, it was okay to trust, and it was okay to let us help her. After WEEKS, we came in one morning to find Sushi at the front of her kennel with a wagging tail and new found confidence.. she even found her voice! She was released from her hold and was placed up for adoption. Her mom contacted us because she knew from the moment she saw Sushi that she was Sushi’s person and that Sushi was her dog. 💙💙
Success stories like these really touch our hearts because even though we can’t save them all… WE CAN TRY. ✨🧡

❌Update on the Two Loose Boxers in Balch Springs❌
First and foremost, we want to thank our community for your support and concern for the welfare of the animals in our city♥️. We’ve been working hard to bring these two dogs to safety, but they are very fearful. To help, we reached out to a wonderful Professional Trapper named Kacy Hendricks, the Founder of Hope’s Rescue and Recovery Angels. She came out today to set up a feeding station and develop a strategic plan to bring these dogs in safely.
To make this successful, we kindly ask the community not to feed the dogs. They’re on a set feeding schedule, and any extra food could prevent them from entering the trap. This step is essential.
Signs and cameras will be in place in this area, so please avoid approaching, feeding, or trying to make contact with the dogs. We are extremely optimistic about these next steps! We will keep you all updated on the progress and truly appreciate your patience. Thank you! ❤️

This is what one of officers stumbled upon this morning. We have no idea how long he has been tied to the side of our building. It must have been so scary and lonely without his humans. 💔💔
Yet again, we are asking ourselves, how can someone do this?
We are trying to remain optimistic as we get this boy settled and comfortable. ❤️🩹
As always, this sweet boy will complete his 72 hour hold and will be released for adoption or rescue.
