Marigolds and seed saving. All of these are grown from seeds from last year. I already have a 1/2 gallon container of seed pods from this year. These marigolds were trap plants for the Japanese beetle and reduced how bad they went after my other plants. Did you know monarch butterfly numbers are significantly down this year? We grow milkweed (at least 3 types) and flowers specifically for our little friends. I will likely be raising these guys inside to increase their survival chances since humans are the ones often limiting their habitat.
