For March’s Pet Memorial Fund Donation, Kennelwood’s Pet Matchmaker, Patty, presented American Eskimo Rescue of St. Louis with our donation check! It was a pleasure speaking with Sandy, her incredible team, & meeting new friends Doug, Jax, Amos, Hanx, Lux and Nick!

American Eskimo Rescue of St. Louis is a local group of dedicated volunteers, working together for the benefit of helpless and homeless Eskies. Their program is funded by donations and adoption fees. Volunteers spend endless hours on transporting, fostering, and networking to save American Eskimo lives.

Patty, the Pet Matchmaker, presents Kennelwood's Pet Memorial Fund Donation on a monthly basis to rescue groups in St. Louis and the surrounding area. Sharing Our Passion for Pet Care!

Our Kennelwood Pet Resorts team had an incredible time joining our partners at Kennelwood Academy for Professional Dog Trainers to meet 8th graders at the Rockwood School District Career Fair! We spoke with students about careers in pet care and dog training, sharing what it’s like to work in an industry that’s all about helping pets live their best lives.

It was inspiring to see so many students interested in working with animals! Thank you, Rockwood, for the opportunity to connect with the next generation of pet care professionals.

Stormy Weather is coming, Help Your Pet Stay Calm⛈️🐾

Storms can be stressful for pets! Dogs sense barometric pressure changes, static electricity, and hear thunder before we do. They also pick up on our rushed actions—closing windows, moving furniture—which can add to their anxiety.

Here’s how to help:
✅ Be Prepared:** Download a weather app to stay ahead of storms.
✅ Stay Calm & Spray:** Use Adaptil spray, a ThunderShirt, or calming treats *before* the storm hits.
✅ Distract & Engage:** Play with your pet, turn up the TV or radio, and show them there’s nothing to fear. Avoid excessive comforting, which can reinforce anxiety.
✅ Secure & Identify:** Close doggie doors, take potty breaks before the storm, and ensure they have ID tags.

Consistency is key! A little prep goes a long way in keeping your pet calm. 🐶💙
