Did you know that roughly 80% of your pet rabbits diet should be hay? Timothy, orchard grass and teft hay are great options. Hay should be availble at all times. This will keep your rabbit occupied and happy. More importantly, it helps with their digestion and can’t prevent dental issues.

The rest of their diet should be fresh leafy greens (spinach, kale, lettuce) pellets (rationed amount for the size of your rabbit) and the occasional treat. Too many sweet treats are not healthy for your rabbit.

Our regular petting zoo wasn’t able to make it to the show today, so we improvised and made our own. I think people enjoyed it and despite the heat it was a great day celebrating the ⭐️100th⭐️ anniversary of the Knechel’s family farm in Harleysville. Just Farm Kids Tractor Club

When handled gently and often rabbits are affectionate and loving pets.🩶

Here’s a few tips on proper handling:

🥕 Rabbits are prey animals, so by nature they don’t love being picked up and prefer their feet on the ground. So it’s best to handle your rabbit from a young age, slowly and gently so they get accustomed to you and build trust. When picking your rabbit up, it’s best to use two hands and hold them close to your body.

🥕 They enjoy space to run around and play. Just keep an eye on them because they do love to chew.

🥕 They are startled by loud noises, so it’s best to handle them in a calm environment.
