This young lady ⬇️ she’s so talented! I’ve learned so much from her!

Hailey Beauvais will jump on my horses and clock right with, if not faster than what I have!

Since selling her horse, she has just dabbled with riding. Her favorite event is the Sherry Cervi Youth Championships. The last few years, she’s jump rode horses…with Maverick, she tied for the fastest time of the event. With Miley, she stayed top 5 all weekend.

Roping…literally she catches EVERYTHING!

We’ve been talking about TJ plans and she mentioned breakaway roping on him…so we head over to Murphy Meadows & I pulled the dummy for her. We need to bring the calf sled over!

What have I learned? Hailey doesn’t play massive head games. She just wants to have FUN! She doesn’t sweat the small stuff, just shows up and goes for it!

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

We made a quick trip last week to pick up a few horses. 3,000 miles in 3 days. It was a bit of a marathon but we had a short period of time for safe travels. It was an exciting adventure for many reasons….one of them being able to visit Trinity & Stella for a hot second and pick up Miley!

🥰 🥰 🥰

Thank you Lord for the safe journey and the incredible people in our corner to help get the queen home!

🙏 🙏 🙏

🎥 Ride #6 on Astrid. Life got busy and it’s been really inconsistent work with her. I might not be working with her consistently, but I dang sure am being present and intentional with every interaction.

I’m so excited to help this filly find a new home!

She’s by Grant & Erin Bayer’s stallion Goldmine Design, Slick By Design out of their great mare Benana Goldstreaker who’s by Ninety Nine Goldmine.

Her dam was one of my favorite horses! One of the smartest horses I’ve ever started. Went on to be very competitive and consistent…winning jackpots, broke an arena record, clocking top 5 in 200+ entry events EVERY DAY of 3 day races. Won $ in her 1st rodeo entry. Placed at Little Britches Nationals…

Current videos coming next week!

Lydia did a great job setting boundaries with Charger 🔌 He’s a very smart horse…he knows when his handler might allow for fudging the lines…when Lydia was uncertain, he knew it. It wasn’t anything terrible, but there was a definite lack of certainty…which left grey area for him to show her vs she show him.

⬇️ this was a perfect fit for today’s lesson!

What you decide to tolerate more than once will inevitably become a pattern that will repeat itself. By not setting clear boundaries, you teach others – and yourself – that certain behaviors or situations are acceptable, even if they make you uncomfortable or hurt you. Every time you allow something that goes against your principles or your well being, you open the door for it to be repeated. Setting boundaries isn't just about firmness, it's about self respect.

Let’s hear your 2025 goals!!!!

I’ve got goals for each horse I work with as well as personal goals for myself. I’ll start with personal goals…

🧠 Continue to pursue the brain and how it works! This has helped me personally & a bunch with helping others! We all learn differently, so figuring out methods that actually help me, help others!

📚 Educate myself more on equine therapy…what works & why?!? I know Miley loves her cold water therapy in the creek and swimming in the summer…what can I do with her this winter 🤔

🦵Get FULL range of motion back in my ankle!!!

💪 Get STRONGER!!!! In the past I’ve been more concerned with my weight….dropping that attitude…I need MUSCLES!!! Not crazy bodybuilding muscles, but strong enough to stick with every stride with a horse that has the power and speed like TJ. I started doing yoga 5 times a week over a month ago. I LOVE it! I can see and feel a difference 🙌

📸 TJ bridleless during a coaching session! This young lady is knocking it out of the park! We aren’t even a month in & she’s feeling the horses and calling out things before me!!! 🤩🙌❤️

🤠 🇺🇸🤠 Words to remember as we get ready to kick off 2025 🤠 🇺🇸🤠

👇🏻 this*

“If you are not in the arena getting your ass kicked on occasion, I’m not interested in or open to your feedback. There are a million cheap seats in the world today filled with people who will never be brave with their lives but who will spend every ounce of energy they have hurling advice and judgment at those who dare greatly. Their only contributions are criticism, cynicism, and fearmongering. If you’re criticizing from a place where you’re not also putting yourself on the line, I’m not interested in what you have to say.”
― Brené Brown

⭐️ Be courageous

⭐️ Be selective of your circle

⭐️ Be kind

⭐️ Get in the arena!

⭐️ Get back up!

This scripture just popped up for me

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

2024 has been a year of highs and lows….here’s just a quick summary of my year with Miley….

🦄 🦄 🦄

Miley filled my WPRA permit in our 1st weekend…headed south with hopes to hit winter rodeos…she got a lung infection so I sent her back home for R&R & baby making…put us into summer before she was legged up to run…ran a few personal bests, a bunch of average wins…fall came around and she wasn’t firing as hard, but still placing 1D with 300+ entries…found out she had lymes right before WPRA Finals in Waco…had hopes for her to recover and be lighting the world on fire with a little rockstar rider but she got injured…so closing this year hoping to get her healed up and able to rock in 2025!

🤞 🙏

I’m learning from the lows and so grateful for the highs! Here’s my favorite run from 2024…rodeo prep…running in the rain, huge outdoor pen…we know Miley can be tough in all the indoors up here…I know she’s more than a 14 second superstar and this run reminded us she is!

💜 💜 💜

A new year, a new chapter. 2025 is going to be one for the records! I’m so thankful for my coaching crew, lesson students and training horses…and over the moon excited with my herd of horses & league of level up riders!!!

🎆🎇🎆🎇

Wishing all our fb friends a very happy New Year!

🎊 🎊 🎊

Miss Miley for the win by over .4!!! In the rain!!! It literally started pouring when they called my name…was thinking this was more good rodeo prep 🤣😂💧☔️...

❤️⬇️

This is fundamental advice regardless of the discipline in which you ride -- I try my best to model my horsemanship after most of the statements presented below by Bill Steinkrause

“No. 1. Get your tack and equipment just right, and then forget about it and concentrate on the horse.

No. 2. The horse is bigger than you are, and it should carry you. The quieter you sit, the easier this will be for the horse.

No. 3. The horse's engine is in the rear. Thus, you must ride your horse from behind, and not focus on the forehand simply because you can see it.

No. 4. It takes two to pull. Don't pull. Push.

No. 5. For your horse to be keen but submissive, it must be calm, straight and forward.

No. 6. When the horse isn`t straight, the hollow side is the difficult side.

No. 7. The inside rein controls the bending, the outside rein controls the speed.

No. 8. Never rest your hands on the horse's mouth. You make a contract with it: "You carry your head and I'll carry my hands."

No. 10. Once you've used an aid, put it back.

No. 11. You can exaggerate every virtue into a defect.

No. 12. Always carry a stick, then you will seldom need it.

No. 13. If you`ve given something a fair trial, and it still doesn't work, try something else—even the opposite.

No. 14. Know when to start and when to stop. Know when to resist and when to reward.

No. 15. If you're going to have a fight, you pick the time and place.

No. 16. What you can't accomplish in an hour should usually be put off until tomorrow.

No. 17. You can think your way out of many problems faster than you can ride your way out of them.

No. 18. When the horse jumps, you go with it, not the other way around.

No. 19. Don`t let over-jumping or dull routine erode the horse's desire to jump cleanly. It's hard to jump clear rounds if the horse isn't trying.

No. 20. Never give up until the rail hits the ground.

No. 21. Young horses are like children—give them a lot of love, but don't let them get away with anything.

No. 22. In practice, do things as perfectly as you can; in competition, do what you have to do.

No. 23. Never fight the oats.

No. 24. The harder you work, the luckier you get."

~Bill Steinkraus

Our Story

Tuff Enuf Ranch was founded in 2005, the year Bronson and Jessica were married. Jessica and Bronson had their 1st date on a trail ride where Bronson rode Tuff (Lafavors Tuff Enuf) and Jessica rode Frosty {Hot Rebel Sun}. Both geldings were 3 yr olds at the time. Tuff is an irreplaceable gelding who we have affectionately named our 'ranch' after.

Foundation and well broke horses are very important to us at Tuff Enuf Ranch. We work with horses and riders from every level, from just getting started to proven winners!

Starting under saddle, tune ups, specializing in barrel racing and helping the horse be safe and as handy as you'd like :-) We do a ton of "general riding", making sure the horse is broke and will do any task that is asked of it, without hesitation. Barrel Racing, WSCA Games, Roping, trail riding, tons of natural desensitizing.

We offer horse and pony training, virtual coaching, riding lessons, and always have a nice horse or pony...or two for sale. Training, coaching and sales located near Balsam Lake, WI.
