EVC's Pet of the Day: Henry!

Henry is a 4 year old Catahoula Leopard dog mix who came to us today for his annual exam with Dr. Anthony and was the GOODEST BOI for his Halloween goodie bag!

EVC's Pet of the Day: Orca!

Orca is a 2 and a half year old love bug who came in for a visit after her owner removed a tick from her- mom wanted a thorough check up as a result.

A little bit more about Orca's story:
Last year Orca, was hit by a car had emergency surgery in which her mouth had to be wired shut and a feeding tube placed. As a result, she had a head tilt and neurological issues.

FAST FORWARD to this year- she's living her best life with mom, with no residual effects! Here she is, hanging out with Dr. Scherping, checking out what Drew is doing in the hallway!

Do you ever sit back and think- What does Fear Free really mean, anyway? Here's a great article that sheds more light on this very beneficial subject.

Did you know that everyone at EVC is Fear Free Certified? This means that every single one of us works towards all of these goals for you and your pets, at every visit. Does it always work, every time? No! But we keep doing it, so our pets can understand that compassion is our M.O.! Then, over time, they will learn they can trust us.

Vet visits traditionally focused primarily on physical health, but Fear Free care recognizes that emotional well-being is equally essential.

EVC's Pet of the day: Miya!

Miya is a girl of a certain age (she won't tell!) who was very upset that we were closed yesterday! She's probably most upset that she couldn't come see her favorite person and EVC Manager of Client Relations, Drew!

EVC's Pet (and tiny human) of the day: Nacho and his little sister!

Nacho came to us for his annual wellness exam today and his little sister was able to "help" Dr. Scherping with her exam! She had so much fun "getting an ear temperature," " listening to his heart, ' and even got to "give a vaccine!" 🤣 We might just have a future vet here! 😻

We love when human kids get involved in their pet's care. it builds good habits for our future generation of animal lovers!! 🩵

EVC's Pet of the Day: Finn!

Finn is a 7 week old kitten who was seen yesterday because he wasn't feeling so hot. Luckily, Dr. Scherping and our team were able to get him feeling better in no time! What's more- Finn's owners already sent an update this morning that the fluids he received have given him new energy and his appetite is back!

EVC's Pet of the Day: Brandy!

Brandy is a 10 year old terrier mix who came to us for her annual wellness exam with Dr. Anthony. During this visit, her owner mentioned that she has been going to aqua therapy to help with her arthritis. THEN SHE SHOWED US A VIDEO. We just knew that you all would LOVE IT, so HERE IT IS!!! Enjoy!!! 😍

FRESH KITTEN ALERT!!! Today at EVC, we were graced with these 4 CUTIE PIES! At 4 weeks old, they were brought in by their foster for their first round of dewormer. Now, they are ready to find their FURRREVER homes! 😻 See photos of available kittens in the comments, "names" are in the description. EVC's Pet of the Day: Macy Gray! Macy Gray is a kitty who is getting a second chance at life through the Show Your Soft Side organization that supports the care of street kitties in Baltimore City. Because of Macy, we are now a part of the network of vets in the city that provides services to support this wonderful cause! Macy Gray is being fostered by one of our clients and she is such a sweet cat, we wanted to help find her a new home! 🐾 Email [email protected] for an application 🐾 Dear Diary, It’s been 7 months since my owner put my family and me outside at a feral cat colony. A nice lady took care of us and gave us food and water. But I really missed living inside and making biscuits next to my owner. I think other cats are great and I love laying next to them. Thankfully, my days of being a mom are over. I give my foster mom gentle head butts and flop on the ground next to her so that she will pet me. At 5 years old, I know I’m not a spring chicken, but I still have plenty of time to love you and become your favorite cat ever. One thing though, I have allergies and need to be on medicine everyday. My foster mom said she’d send me with some to get me started. EVC's Pets of the Day: Hobbes and Zester! These two cuties came for their first visit with us and we all swooned over their cuteness! I mean, just LOOK! 😍 Did you know that it's just as important to give our kitties treats as a reward at the vet as it is for dogs? Cats may pretend not to care, but it still does wonders for creating a positive association with the vet for future visits. ETA: FB won't let us post a video with pictures, so see the comments for their pictures!
