Unfortunately my not so nice boss, decided to schedule me 13 days straight leading up to Christmas, leaving me little time to get the editing done in a timely manner (aka I am my own boss 🤣).

This is a tough one.

We had to say goodbye to the stinky man that inspired the Ruff Riders Mobile Grooming logo, Severus.

Severus was my brother’s best friend for nearly twelve years. He was the most loving dog ever and loved to grace every & anyone with his silent but deadly t***s. He could clear a whole room with them. He had the best life ever, wearing his sweaters and going to bed every night on a literal baby crib mattress. I am so glad we were able to spend one last holiday with him.

Life is going to be weird not hearing his snores from multiple rooms away anymore.

Sending my thoughts to my brother, sister in law, nephew & niece during this time. 🫶🏼

Although this hasn’t been an issue for the past year (no snow 😢), I do like to remind everyone that if there is any inclement weather during the winter that I operate based off of Baltimore & Harford County school closures. If the school buses can’t drive in it, the grooming van can’t either.

How we are preventing the spread of the mystery canine virus.

The state of Maryland only legally requires the rabies vaccination in order for pets to be groomed, but as always, we do highly suggest you talk to your vet about the other vaccinations they offer in order to help stop the spread of any canine diseases & illnesses. Even before this virus, I can safely say that I have ALWAYS practiced safety, sanitization & disinfecting protocols very seriously.

Nearly almost a year after my grooming van getting rear ended and being out of commission from January-April awaiting repairs, I LEGALLY GOT AWARDED A SETTLEMENT!

It has been a battle to get the party responsible to actually take responsibility, but I’m so glad I can put this difficult year behind me and have this come to an end. Thanks again to everyone who continues to stand behind me & my small business! 🖤

From muppet to MARVELOUS!

My first time working with Mr. Teddy. Teddy is a rescue who unfortunately is not a fan of the whole brushing process, which for his cottony Pekingese hair, means matting can occur super easily. Thankfully he looks like such a handsome gentleman in a nice short cut and he is now mat free!

These little instances are what makes me so happy that I decided to open my mobile grooming business a little over two years ago. See my pups HAPPY to leave my care instead of scared, nervous or traumatized. I am very proud of my humble beginnings as a corporate groomer, but it wasn’t often that I saw dogs leaving extremely happy since the environment was generally chaotic with kennels, other nervous barking pets, long groom times, etc.

Love hanging out with this piece of fried chicken, Lola 😂 Miss Lola is seriously so relaxed for the entire grooming process. I just love getting in some snuggle time with her.

Sometimes Honey acts like she doesn’t want to get groomed by protesting outside the van. But as soon as she hops in & the van door is closed, she is quick to show me her cool agility moves to get onto the table and into the tub. 😂

A little PSA about slipleads for everyone, regardless if you are a pet owner or not!

The joys of when a passerby chooses to look into the grooming van when I am wearing the deshed mosquito net situation. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I may look crazy, but ya girl is just trying to not get fur in her eyes 😂 You know you’re a dog groomer when you pull 3 inch long dog hairs out of your eyeballs on the daily.

Sometimes you just gotta wear it loud & proud 🫣😂 Although Mo is the bestest boy for us 💕

Blow drying can often be the scariest or most stressful part of a grooming or bath service for dogs. I try to make that experience as positive as possible by introducing each dog to the object I’m going to use next by having them smell and get familiar with it first. Happy Hoodies are also something I utilize with almost every pet. They are a form of compression material that helps to naturally calm pets with a “hugging” sensation but also acts as a form of ear protection as well. Professional grooming dryers can be loud & forceful, so we should be protecting not only our ears, but our furry friends ears as well! As you can see, Axel could not give a care in the world about the dryer with his Happy Hoodie & lots of kisses!

For everyone who asks how I manage to take such good photos of pups… 😂

I just want to give a personal thank you to everyone who has stuck with me during what I can call the hardest time in my career these past few months. A short video could never do my gratefulness towards my clients any sort of justice. As a small business owner, I absolutely despise inconveniencing my clients. I literally stay awake from the guilt that eats me up from having to reschedule anyone for issues that I know are utterly out of my control. But you guys are so patient & so understanding. And I’m hearing that I am the first mobile groomer as of yet to be awarded this, which just makes this experience that much more special!
