Your donation to ASR is tax-deductible. We provide all vetting needs and a safe and loving environment while we search for a " forever home". We are 100% volunteer and all funds for vetting, transport and temporary boarding are raised via donations, fundraisers and adoption fees.

Message from Owner: Our German Shepherd, Verra, took off this morning into the woods around 4:50am in White Pine Acres in Westminster, MD on Avis Drive. She is a sweetheart but not very street smart. Please contact me here if you see her. Please check ring cameras and trail cameras so we can try to locate her. We are heartbroken that we haven’t been able to find her.

Lucky Raven got to go travelling for the holidays. From her mom..." She absolutely loved her travels and spending time with the family in the RV to Sarasota for the x-mas holiday. The resort we stay in has plenty to keep her occupied including long walking paths and lots of activities by our site to keep her attention.... she's doing great." Pics include her sister, Tiger Lily. 💛

Helping you find your next Best Friend

We are a group of German Shepherd lovers with a mission to save German Shepherds and German Shepherd mixes who are homeless and/or at risk in shelters. We take these wonderful dogs into our homes, obtain whatever vetting is needed and give them love and structure while we search for a permanent home for them.

One of our other missions is to educate the public on the benefits of spay/neuter, training your pet to be a canine good citizen and other dog related topics. We also work with individuals who have German Shepherds to help keep them in their homes.

We hope by our efforts to reduce the staggering number of perfectly adoptable dogs euthanized in shelters every day . We truly believe one day we will have a 99% live release rate from shelters .

We are an all volunteer organization, recognized as 501c3 charity by the IRS .
