We need YOU to help us make the last Yappy Hour a great success for Fairy Tails Animal Rescue and our Hamilton-Lauraville neighborhood businesses ❤️. On average, Mutt Mart and local businesses contribute $500-$1,000 for each Yappy Hour. In light of Mutt Mart’s closure, and the tough economy all small businesses are facing right now, we created a Go Fund Me. Help us lift other businesses up, no amount is too small. Any excess funds will go straight to Fairy Tails.
Special thanks to previous Yappy Hour musicians Wile & Smith, pictured. They always generously donated their talent, as well as their tip jar, to Yappy Hour’s featured rescue. Check out Krista Cushman Realtor for the answer to that. Pardon the shameless self promotion, but I certainly can't afford to retire, so til then this girl will continue to hustle! 😅
"When is Mutt Mart's closing date?"
Thursday May 19th will be our last day in business, & we are making the most of our last few days! Yappy Hour at Burdick Park Thursday, LAST Friday fundraiser for Friday, & a HUGE Sidewalk Sale Saturday & Sunday!
"Why are you closing?"
I could go on and on for hours about all the twists and turns that have led to this decision. It's something I have been wrestling with for well over a year. Although it was certainly not just about the money, the bottom line is Mutt Mart was never very profitable. I spent too much time working on ways to help rescues, my customers, and our community at large. I did not have a marketing team, I didn't play the "inflate prices then put it on sale" game that chewy plays, & I never had a go fund me, because for me that’s not a sustainable business plan. I am sad that all the good the shop put out into the universe did not equate to enough funds to make us thrive, but I'm ok with that. I ran the business true to me and my values, no regrets. It wasn't the store for everyone, but those of you who "got it" loved it, and that's really awesome ❤️
Thank you so much for all of your support, and please don't quit on us yet! We've got another week, and a TON of supplies to unload!
And as usual, I've saved the juiciest bit for the end of the post: you asked for it, and I really can't imagine not having one last **YAPPY HOUR at Mutt Mart!!** Friday June 3rd from 5-9pm we will have food, booze, adoptable animals, and live music by . 🐾Thursday May 12th Burdick Bark Yappy Hour 5-8pm. Food, booze, and DOGS ❤️. Everything at our booth will be just $5, and we’ll have a raffle basket to benefit BARCS Animal Shelter.
🐾 LAST Friday May 13th - we usually celebrate FIRST Fridays, but this will be our last Friday in business. We will donate 10% of ALL sales all day to Animal Allies Rescue Foundation (AARF). One last chance to shop for a great cause.
🐾 Sidewalk Sale Saturday & Sunday 11am-2pm! We still have beds, jackets, collars, bowls, food, treats & toys, and whatever is left this weekend will be marked down and/or name your price!!

Happy Mother’s Day to all you human, dog, cat & small animal moms out there. And for those of you deciding on whether or not to become a dog or cat mom, we think you should do what is best for you. We do not want to force a pet on you. It’s none of our damn business what you choose, and no matter what we support your personal decision ❤️.
Yes we have Nail Trimming today 11am-1pm. Yes we still have supplies!!! We have food, treats, toys, beds, gifts, bowls, biodegradable p**p bags, and SO MANY harnesses, collars & leashes all at bargain prices! It has been awesome seeing so many folks in the store purchasing so many supplies. Thank you for supporting us all the way up to the end ❤️

Sadly the rain has spoiled our outdoor events this weekend. The sidewalk sale tonight will be inside (but still Lots of deals and drinks!), and Yappy Hour at Racers is cancelled. But the silver lining is that we found these FANTASTIC vintage cat framed pictures 😻. We will start the bidding at just $1 - comment on the picture(s) you want. They will add much value and style to any home.
