We’re proud to shine a light on volunteer Matt Bronson, who recently traveled to Panama with Zoo staff to support the vital work of our conservation partners at EVACC Foundation! As an engineer, Matt’s specialized skills in construction were especially useful in making improvements to buildings that house critically endangered Panamanian golden frogs. ✨🐸

IVY UPDATE: Take a stroll through Chimpanzee Forest and you might catch baby chimp Ivy out and about in the dayroom! 🐒 As she gradually gets introduced to the space, she’s spending time with other troop members, including Abby and Louie, who are keeping watchful eyes on her.

To mark this special milestone, we have a BIG update: Ivy has started spending time with the troop! She’s met several chimps, including playful youngsters Maisie and Lola. She’s also been spending lots of time with Abby, a female chimp who has grown especially fond of her.

Animal Architects: Engineering for Wildlife was a hit at Maryland STEM Festival 🛠️🐾 Participants took on the role of Zoo engineers, designing different enrichment for our animal ambassadors. Using problem-solving skills and hands-on creativity, everyone helped make engaging activities for the animals to enjoy! #mdstemfest2024
