The Baltimore Orchard Project and @treebaltimore planted an orchard in Druid Hill Park in the early spring of 2020 just before the Pandemic. In the fall of 2020, BOP volunteers returned to the orchard to pull weeds and otherwise care for the fruit trees. They also celebrated the joy that comes from collaborating with others in nature.
We at BOP look forward to seeing this orchard, and many others grow in 2021. Thank you to all of our partners, volunteers, and those who gave in many ways in 2020!

Giving Tuesday
The Baltimore Orchard Project teamed up with families at the Baltimore Country Club to harvest apples on the club's properties. Many apples were shared with Sarah's Hope family shelter in West Baltimore and the Marion House, a home for women and children who need housing and supportive services.
Projects such as this are what BOP is all about. Consider giving today so we can continue our work. For every $3 you give today, our board will match $2, up to $7,500. This Tuesday, Give.

For many years these two Baltimore City neighborhoods with a shared median cared for a small orchard. Recently, neighbors from each community worked with the Baltimore Orchard Project to plant new fruit trees and in doing so renewed their commitment to caring for them.
For every $3 you give between now and December 1st, our board will match $2, up to $7,500. This Tuesday, Give.

Fall Nut Harvest with the Baltimore Orchard Project!
At the Civic Works' Baltimore Orchard Project we are preparing for the fall harvest. We would like to invite you to join us in harvesting nut trees! The Baltimore Orchard Project strengthens communities through planting and cultivating orchards, teaching neighbors to be long-term stewards, and sharing the harvest among us all.
For information on fall tree nut harvesting check out the Civic Works' Baltimore Orchard Project Blog at: http://baltimoreorchardproject.civicworks.com/2017/10/ginkgo-beech-acorn-walnut-processing/
Also take a look at our partners Baltimore Recnparks, TreeBaltimore, Charm City Farms, and Forested for additional resources on tree planting and tree nut foraging in Baltimore.
