MAS Rescue

MAS Rescue MAS Rescue is a small group, we are dedicated to helping unwanted shelter animals. We are run by volu The animals hope to hear from you soon.

The Maryland Animal Sanctuary & Rescue Organization (MAS Rescue, Inc.) was founded in 2005 by Mary Snyder to fulfill her dream and passion to save animals from unnecessary euthanasia in over-crowded shelters. MAS Rescue is a small group that is dedicated to helping unwanted shelter animals whose time has run out and whose destiny is deemed perilous. An all volunteer organization, we have a passion

ate desire to save as many shelter animals as possible and work tirelessly to provide all the love and care they need. MAS Rescue has rescued and placed over 8500 dogs and cats in loving forever homes. Animals come to us from local shelters, some from distant shelters, while still others are displaced homeless animals found wandering the streets. We rescue, treat and rehabilitate animals through placement in volunteer foster homes for the purpose of eventual adoption into permanent homes that are loving and responsible. They are socialized with children, other animals, and are exposed to everyday family life. We take each animal for a vet check, have them vaccinated, de-wormed etc... If an animal is 22 weeks or more they will always be altered. We require an adoption application, a signed contract and a fee. We will complete regular follow-up, including veterinarian follow-up on your new companion. If you are interested in adopting any of our furry four-legged friends, e-mail us for an adoption application. Please keep in mind: We will not ship animals, but will consider reasonable transport for the perfect home! Thanks for considering adoption from a rescue organization!

Well… it just took the right amount of time,(seventeen months!!) for one of our previous adopters and our pretty girl Summer to finally make a perfect match! I want to thank Lauren Kallins, and her entire family for fostering ‘Summer’ for 2 full summer’s, while we tried to find her fur-ever family! Looks like she is settling in very well!! 🐾♥️🐾

Please help! This is Wiggle! He's still just a growing kiddo and really needs some friends to hang out with to do ducky things!🦆🦆 After he lost his mate, poor Wiggle has been here all alone without any duck friends. Sanctuaries, like shelters, are full, so please help us spread the word about him so he can find an adopter who will provide him a safe and totally quacky home! ❤

If you are interested in adopting Wiggle, or know someone who might be, learn how to adopt here: https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/animalservices/adoption/howtoadopt.html or just waddle your way over to the shelter during open hours!

One of my favorite quotes: “It came to me that every time I lose a dog, they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog and I will become as generous and loving as they are.” Diane Keaton

Meet Sailor… yes, you may have seen a photo of him before, because he was returned from his previous home. Mom lost her job, and can no longer care for him. He is a very sweet Pomeranian. He has been friendly and polite with people and other pets. He has a joyful attitude. Sailor does eat a prescription diet for his tummy, and he does take supplements for his joints, because he is just over 10 years old. Although when you meet him you wouldn’t know it, he has a bouncy little trot when he goes for walks. Such a very sweet little guy, who is current on all vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and looking for a lap to hold him. If interested, send me an email for an adoption application… [email protected].

Wow!!

Two eastern box turtles were born as conjoined twins, a rare occurrence among the reptile species. The hatchlings were later separated with the help of the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center of Roanoke.
