Who We Are:

Our vision was to not only be your neighborhood veterinarian, but to set an example for outstanding veterinary practice in our community. We're a family-owned and operated clinic, and we're bringing back a level of patient care and client service that you don't see enough of these days. We also think it's important to be proactive. That means continuing to educate ourselves and our cl

ients, so together we can give your pet the best possible quality of life. It also means we'll be calling to check in after an appointment, a surgery, or just because. Everyone here is committed to you and your pet. That's why we can confidently say: you'll feel better here. Dr. Shook is a full-time veterinarian and a co-owner, along with her sister, Jenn Shook. She began working at Whetstone Point Inner Harbor Veterinary Hospital in 2003. In 2005 she pursued a lifelong dream when she and her sister purchased the clinic and renamed it CityPets Veterinary Care & Wellness. She enjoys living in Baltimore with her cat Mischief and dog Opie. If you see Dr. Shook and Opie walking around the neighborhood (not like you could miss a Great Dane!), stop by and say hi. Dear Valued CityPets Clients and Family,

We hope you and your family have been safe and healthy in the recent times. We want to thank you for your patience and understanding over the past couple of years with the protocol changes we have had to put in place at CityPets to make it as safe as possible for our clients, patients, and staff. We very much appreciate your business and your continued support. The safety and comfort of our clients, patients, and staff remain our top priorities; so with that in mind we have new COVID protocols in place that will be put in place, effective immediately.

Below is a summary of our updated COVID protocols:

-We will no longer require clients to be wearing masks while in the building.

-If you are uncomfortable with coming into the building, you still have the option of curbside service.

-All clients that have arrived for appointments that do not require an exam will still remain in the lobby.

-For exam appointments, two clients will be allowed into the exam rooms with your pet.

-Hand sanitizer will be provided.

We ask that you reschedule your pet's appointment if any of the following apply to you:

1. You are experiencing a fever, or symptoms of respiratory illness, such as cough or difficulty breathing.

2. You have symptoms of the flu, bronchitis, or are not feeling well.

3. You or your pet have had close contact with a person confirmed to have COVID-19

If you are experiencing any of the above and would prefer to not reschedule your appointment, we will ask that you wear a mask when interacting with staff.

Appointments for routine exams and vaccines will be scheduled for no more than 2 weeks before services are due. For example, if your pet is due for vaccines on June 15th, we will work with you to schedule an appointment between June 1st and June 15th. If your pet is overdue, we will schedule for the earliest possible appointment.

You can always access our online pharmacy through our website at citypetsvet.com. You can order food, medications, and general pet products to be shipped directly to you, and you will also be supporting us as a local small business.

'Tis the season... kitten season! We need your help to stock up on supplies and give them the most comfortable stay while they wait for their forever homes.

To help fill our shelter with much needed "stuff," on Sunday, April 2, BARCS will be at Pariah Brewing Company (1700 Union Ave., Suite D, 21211) from 12-4 p.m. for a "kitten shower!" Bring a gift (an item from our wish list would be purrfect), come learn about fostering kittens for BARCS and play some (probably ridiculous but definitely fun) "kitten shower" games.

If you're hoping to adopt, you're in luck! We'll have adoptable dogs and cats with us, too. Standard adoption procedures still apply.

Good morning!

We will be closed on Saturday April 2nd through Monday April 4th, due to Dr Shook being out of town for a training seminar. We will be open Friday April 1st, but the doctor will not be in the office. We will be allowing pre approved medication and food pick up on Friday. If you need to place an order for a medication, we ask that you call ahead by Thursday March 31st. We will be unable to fill medications called in on Friday April 1st. We will reopen with normal hours on Tuesday April 5th. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 410-752-7122. Hello!

We hope everybody has been having a safe and healthy past few months. Our team would like to thank you for your patience and understanding during quarantine with the protocol changes we have had to put in place to keep both you and our staff safe. We're doing our best to navigate the ever-changing world we now live in, and we very much appreciate your business and your continued support. With the recent changes to the COVID positivity rates and CDC guidelines, we have decided to transition back to in person visits again! Safety remains our top priority, so with that in mind, we have new COVID protocols in place that will begin Tuesday, March 8th. Below is a summary of our updated COVID protocols:

-Despite the change in Baltimore City indoor mask mandates, we will still require clients to be wearing masks while in the building. This is non-negotiable, even for vaccinated individuals.
-If you are uncomfortable with coming into the building, you still have the option of curbside service.
-All appointments that do not require an exam will remain in the lobby.
-You may come in to pick up food and medication, we just ask that no more than 3 clients be in the lobby at one time.
-For exam appointments, ONE ADULT client will be allowed into the building with your pet. When you arrive for your appointment, you may come into the building for to check in as long as you are wearing a mask. We will then es**rt you into an exam room. We ask that you remain in the exam room for the duration of your appointment.
-Bathroom access WILL NOT be permitted.
-No food or drink will be allowed in the exam rooms.
-Hand sanitizer will be provided.

Hello, CityPets Family! Due to the drastic increase in COVID cases in Baltimore City, we will be moving back to a modified curbside protocol, effective immediately. If you are driving to your appointment, you will be asked to stay in your car and call our office to check in. If you are walking to your appointment, you will be asked to wait in our lobby while our technicians and doctor attends to your pet. We are still requiring all clients and staff to be masked while in the building and are also still allowing masked clients inside to pick up medications and food.
