Three years ago today…
This sweet little girl is Jane (now named Sawyer). Once I decided to adopt I was so torn between Jane and Tilda. She and Jane both shared many of the same good qualities: they both played well with their littermates but didn’t need constant stimulation. Neither showed any resource guarding. Jane was sweet, pretty, and seemed obedient from the start. Jane was usually sitting politely and staring quietly when the rest of her siblings were going bonkers. Jane usually quickly responded with a recall if I started clapping from across the room, while Tilda usually had something more interesting to do when I tried to call her over.
But Tilda ultimately won me over with her wrinkles and her freckles and her independent streak. And I still get to see Jane sometimes because Tilda’s dog walkers, pet sitters, sometimes-daycare-owners, and sometimes-trainers adopted her! You can see pictures of her pretty face over at and .again.
