Strength to Love farm is helping to transform both the appearance of Sandtown-Winchester and its residents. With 14 hoop house greenhouses managed by neighborhood residents, we grow lettuce greens and other crops in rotation throughout the year. We focus on providing training and employment to local residents returning from incarceration as well as youth ages 18-24. We were the first urban agricu

Our Story

Strength to Love II is a community based program in west Baltimore’s Sandtown- Wi******er neighborhood that uses a 1.5 acre farm to offer employment to citizens returning to the community from incarceration and workforce development for youth ages 18-24. Our farm also helps to address the food apartheid issue in and surrounding our neighborhood. As a program of the nonprofit Intersection of Change, we follow a mission statement that seeks to enrich the economic, social and spiritual lives of those dealing with poverty related issues in our community.

Our farm is a visible symbol of transformation in our community that has successfully converted vacant land into an operational farm by offering organically grown produce for local consumption. We use environmentally sustainable methods to grow our high quality produce. We offer fresh, nutritious, great tasting produce at competitive prices to diverse retail, restaurant, institutional, and individual customers.
