It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to our special colleague, friend & mentor. On September 17th, Heather Elliott lost her battle against Cancer. For over 25 years Heather was a part of our DocSide family.
What we will all remember most is her dedication. Her work ethic was legendary. She was often the first one in and the last one to leave, driven not by a clock, but by her commitment to the well-being of every single animal in our care. She taught our staff so much, not just about veterinary medicine, but about showing up for others, day after day, with unwavering strength and spirit.
Over the last 27 years, our team has gone through so much together. She was there for the emergencies and the quiet moments, the triumphs and the heartbreaks. Her laughter could fill a room, and her shoulder was always there when a colleague needed to cry. She was our rock, our constant.
They say that "wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories". In our clinic, that trail is everywhere. It's in the way we still do things exactly how she taught us. It's in the countless grateful clients who still ask about her. Most of all, it's in the many animals whose lives are healthier and happier because of her dedicated care.
Heather, you were loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Thank you for your incredible friendship, your endless compassion, and for leaving this world a much, much better place.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tierney, Dr. Herling
and the entire Docside staff
