Canning and preserving food is not new. It’s been around for generations.
I understand trepidation when starting something but friends… the “food” that floods our screens, our grocery store shelves, they are truly scary.
Canning, dehydrating, freezing, preserving REAL food is doable. It’s something we CAN do.
There are many wonderful people across this platform that have been putting by their food like I have for many, many years. Teaching and sharing how you can take these skills into your own home. You don’t have to have acreage. You don’t have to grow it all yourself. You don’t have to have a cellar designated for your canned items. You just have to have a desire to start. A willingness to take a real hard look at the foods that are being eaten, and if they are mostly processed garbage… a willingness to change.
One baby step at a time is better than turning a blind eye to what we know is an issue.
That’s why I’m here, let’s learn together. 💛

I’ve shared this again because it’s just that important… it’s worth repeating. 😘

The History of 'APRONS'
I don't think most kids today know what an apron is. The principle use of Mom's or Grandma's apron was to protect the dress underneath because she only had a few. It was also because it was easier to wash aprons than dresses and aprons used less material. But along with that, it served as a potholder for removing hot pans from the oven.
It was wonderful for drying children's tears, and on occasion was even used for cleaning out dirty ears.
From the chicken coop, the apron was used for carrying eggs, fussy chicks, and sometimes half-hatched eggs to be finished in the warming oven.
When company came, those aprons were ideal hiding places for shy kids..
And when the weather was cold, she wrapped it around her arms.
Those big old aprons wiped many a perspiring brow, bent over the hot wood stove.
Chips and kindling wood were brought into the kitchen in that apron.
From the garden, it carried all sorts of vegetables. After the peas had been shelled, it carried out the hulls.
In the fall, the apron was used to bring in apples that had fallen from the trees.
When unexpected company drove up the road, it was surprising how much furniture that old apron could dust in a matter of seconds.
When dinner was ready, she walked out onto the porch, waved her apron, and the men folk knew it was time to come in from the fields to dinner.
It will be a long time before someone invents something that will replace that 'old-time apron' that served so many purposes.
Send this to those who would know (and love) the story about aprons.

REMEMBER:
Mom's and Grandma's used to set hot baked apple pies on the window sill to cool. Her granddaughters set theirs on the window sill to thaw.
They would go crazy now trying to figure out how many germs were on that apron.
I don't think I ever caught anything from an apron - but love

My name is Ann. However, my given name is Nantawan Acetta, which translates to little flower in Thai and little ax in Italian.

I am a first-generation honesteader turned small-scale family farm. I spent most of my life being filtered and molded to say the right thing, look the right way, and that intelligent people do not do physical labor.

I have 2 autoimmune that will end up killing me slowly. I also struggle with depression.

I was told strong women have no place in this world and that we are designed to care for our spouses and family and put ourselves second.

Let me tell you what happened almost 10 years ago.

I discovered who God designed me to he, and in this time, He slowly spoke direction into me. He hasnorepared me for what's to come and what my role is.

He gave me the strength and knowledge to teach this life to others.

He gave me a voice to speak the truth loudly and with clarity. He has not asked me to just know the information, He is expecting me to share it.

He gave me the strength to live by example and show that clean foods, movement, and goals will soothe my depression and autoimmunes. Is itard? Every day, but He never told me it would he easy.

More importantly, He asks me not to be idle as their is work to be done.

We will lose our fight of being able to live freely, eat clean foods, live simply, and provide these things to others if we do not start teaching it.

This means that if YOU do not start reaching it. You are one person. The one person who will teach 10 people so each of those 10 people teach 10 more people.l, and so on and so on.

It is time for us to rise and not hide why we've been called to this life. These square cultivate community and so much more.

However, reaching out to your town community to teach this life cultivates freedom fighters at your town, county, and state level.

You, my friends, we're created to be freedom fighters. Stand tall now or forever be controlled.

Find your strength and voice for your children and grandchildren.

It just keeps snowing, and we keep digging out. This isn't the fluff that blows away, this is the stuff you can barely pick up with a shovel.
