Elderly dogs have feelings also. I cared for two back to back this month. They both 15 years old and deaf, can’t see. They have feelings also. They rely on the person who raised them. People take them to the pound when in this condition. It’s hard work but I feel for them.

I apologize it’s been awhile since posting but this caring for animals gets busy and not too many days off. I do get lucky time to time. So far it’s been semi busy and I’m getting bookings fast. So this is what I’ve been caring for. Besides losing my 15 year old Maltese Poodle. I’ve got at least one booking each month but June is booked.

All dog rooms are cleaned and ready for the next set. I’m taking a few days off. I’m a small set up and constantly busy.

I’ve had an incredible busy two months straight in caring for dogs and cats 🐱 for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. but it’s always busy but January gets slow for me to catch up with things.

It’s getting colder and I always ask owners what temperature does your critter like in temperature in the rooms . I have large dogs with long hair now and they say in the sixties but older and smaller doggies at 70 degrees . The oil heaters are keeping them all warm and happy .

Let me say, I also go to homes to visit kitty’s to feed, make sure they have water , liter boxes and play time. Can bring in mail and water plants . Oh I’ve done a Macall Parrot 🦜 for 3 years. I have to much going at my place to do overnight stays

I’m personal one on one and take elderly dogs to care for while the owners are away. I enjoy talking care of them personally .
This special male 15 year old Dachshund was here for 3 weeks . I think it’s quite a bit of time to stay for this age . He’s been here a shorter stay at the beginning of the year . I’m his ears and eyes and this set up was perfect for him because he’d go out and get exercise walking in circles . The diet that suit his needs was hamburger , grilled strip chicken with a little tuna and yogurt, topped with very little beef barley soup for taste because of the salt intake . He wouldn’t eat the can dog food they brought . So have to cater to his needs at this age. A diaper is a must inside . He was a sweet little trooper. Yea I’d take him again because I enjoy elderly dogs 🐶 Being older and smaller, his room stayed at 70 degrees inside.

Sunflower is currently at Multnomah County Dog Shelter she needs a home ~if you are interested we can pull her .

Sunflower--3 year old FI Lab/Hound mix---Has been here since 8/12/23. Sunflower has been here for two months without any adoption interest. She doesn't present well in the kennel due to kennel stress and keeps getting passed over. Sunflower is very active and can be loud in our kennels. She is very sweet with people, but can take a minute to get comfortable. She loves to play ball and loves the swimming pool. She has been selective with her canine friends and seems to do much better with respectful male dogs. She may also prefer to be the only dog in your home. UPDATE: Sunflower was able to find a foster home and is doing wonderful! She is successfully living with a couple other dogs, loves to play fetch, is potty trained.

I’m finally finding time to post things that are important to me . October is normally slow each year and I managed to get 6 days off to catch up with things . Most of the year I’m always going strong with out hardly a break. It’s a good thing I love 💕 what I do . So since my husband deceased over 20 years ago , I knew what I wanted to do and ever since I’ve been working hard to develop what this PetSitting business . Believe me , it’s been a hard road to where I’m happy 😊 with this . It’s had it’s ups and downs .
So let me explain about I slowly built this and planed it carefully for your furry friends . I wanted dogs rooms with access and I even have one room for elderly small dogs . I’m not a big set up but it’s only me. I have four dog rooms insulated and heated with access . Plus the extra room for elderly small dogs . There’s times people tease me that it’s not a kennel but a dog motel lol 😂 It actually puts a smile on my face . Hasn’t happened yet but there may be one more room built in the near future but it cost hard earned money.
Let me share on what what I have . I even have a fenced backyard for them to run and burn energy. I also go to homes caring for kitties 🐈‍⬛
I also want to say while the owners are away, I communicate with them with pictures how they are doing, providing that they are in an area of of location to do so.

I walked the larger dogs together yesterday and they are a easy walk. So I practiced in their 20 foot access area with the three. The owner has these sweethearts so we’ll trained, I took them out for a walk all at once for the first time. It’s better than walking one at a time. This is a first.

I read someplace in the media, I’m not set up for large, medium dogs. Lol 😂 What am I doing with German Shepherds, Great Pyranese, Border Collies, Labs and Rottweilers. I have a fenced yard for play time, play ball and running around.
I owned Rottweilers most my life and now I own a Pitt and Aussie. I worked hard getting a five foot fence up 3 years ago. Yes me, and I’m constantly trying to make things better. I end up with some not leash trained and that’s were the backyard comes in handy. I admit there are some large large dogs that are too hard to handle and not very well trained on leash.
