Our Story

My wife, Patti and I began this German Shepherd journey in 1997. Since that time we have encountered many of the ups and downs, highs and lows that one finds along the way of building a successful business.

We have seen so called breeders come and we have seen them go thinking it was a quick way to make a buck. It isn’t.

Instead of just piggybacking on what someone else had done, We have traveled across the Atlantic to Germany numerous times looking for the finest bloodlines with the greatest temperaments and from there, we have formed a foundation to our breeding program. We made a commitment to achieving a goal and then we set out to achieve it, and from that we have built a program that is ours. It is exclusive, and it is very special. As an example, here is my original male that I brought back from Germany with me on one of my trips back in 1998. His name was Ingo vom Haus Schalk and what a special male he was. Big and handsome with a temperament of gold and a pedigree of royalty. His sire was the great Hobby Gletschertopf and Hobby’s sire was the legendary Jeck Noricum. These names perhaps do not mean much to you but I assure you that in Europe at the time, they were considered breeding royalty. In 2000, Ingo won the New England Regional Sieger Show in Newport, Rhode Island.

Now, in 2018, Ingo’s great grandson, Bronn vom Lebenshunger stands at stud here in my kennel. Same beautiful structure and conformation as his Great Grandfather, same wonderful temperament and continuing to produce the same great Lebenshunger puppies. This is consistency in breeding. This is knowing what each and every puppy that you breed will bring to the families that you place them with. This is what it takes to be a real breeder; Time and dedication to your craft...because breeding great dogs is a craft and an even greater responsibility.
