As the temperatures drop, it’s important to remember that cold weather can be just as tough on our pets as it is on us. 🐾 Here are some simple ways to keep your furry companions safe and warm this winter:

🐶 Limit Outdoor Time: Shorten walks and playtime when it’s extremely cold. Frostbite can affect paws, ears, and tails.

🧣 Dress for Warmth: Small dogs, older pets, or those with thin coats may benefit from cozy sweaters or jackets to help them stay warm.

🦶 Protect Their Paws: Ice, salt, and chemicals can irritate your pet’s paws. Consider using booties or wiping paws clean after outdoor walks.

🏠 Provide a Warm Shelter: Keep pets indoors as much as possible. If they do need to go outside, make sure they have a dry, sheltered place to retreat to.

💧 Stay Hydrated: Even in winter, make sure your pet has access to fresh water to stay hydrated.

🐾 Watch for Hypothermia: Shivering, lethargy, and trouble walking are signs of hypothermia. If you suspect your pet is too cold, get them inside immediately and warm them up slowly.
