Donate for cats like Ned.

Earlier this year, Ned came to us with an injury we’ll never forget—he had been shot in the face and left to suffer alone for days. By the time a Good Samaritan found him, the wounds to his face and tongue were infected and necrotic. Yet through all of it—this sweet, shattered cat purred and headbutted his caregivers, thanking us with every ounce of strength he had.

Emergency vets removed the worst of the bullet fragments, but his jaw was left exposed, the tissue sheared completely away. He faced sedation, feeding tubes, and an uncertain road ahead. And yet, he remained patient. Loving. Forgiving.

Ned’s recovery was long and costly—but because of donors like you, we never had to choose between care and cost. This Giving Tuesday, your gift helps us say yes to the next animal in desperate need.

Donations are being matched up to $40,000—double your impact today.

Follow the link below to DONATE NOW or before December 2nd! Please make sure to list "Giving Tuesday" in the section that asks what your gift is for.

This week's SCHS Pets of the Week are Magnalina and Leo! To make an appointment to meet them, call us at 608-356-2520.

Magnalina’s striking blue eyes are the first thing you’ll notice—right before she zooms past you with her unstoppable puppy energy! This 6-month-old Siberian Husky is playful, curious, and full of personality. She was surrendered when her previous owner realized just how much zest a young Husky brings to life, but here at the shelter she’s been showing off her love for running, exploring, and soaking up every belly rub she can get.

Magnalina already has some leash-walking experience, though she can still be a bit bouncy (it’s all part of her charm!). She’s looking for an active home that can match her energy, give her plenty of exercise and playtime, and continue her training. With patience and consistency, she’ll do wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and even kids. Like all Huskies, she’ll need regular grooming for her beautiful double coat—and a family ready for lots of adventure and love. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.

Leo is a handsome 5-year-old orange-and-white gentleman with a mellow heart and a soft spot for anyone willing to give him a little love. He was surrendered due to allergy issues, but he settled in quickly—purring the moment someone leans in for pets and happily rubbing along the front of his kennel for attention. He’s a big, easygoing boy who enjoys being picked up, loves catnip, and prefers quality time over treats. During playtime, he shows his sweet, affectionate side, making it clear he’d be a wonderful companion to relax with at the end of the day. Leo may be a little older, but he has so much love left to give—and he’s more than ready for a second chance at a real home. He is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered prior to adoption.

Visit our website saukhumane.org to view all of our adoptable animals. Cat and dog adoptions include the spay or neuter surgery, a microchip, and current vaccinations.

Cats: Cat Dependent, should be okay. Was scared of cat.

Jax would do good in an active home to match his energy level, and also a home that understands the Huskey breed.
