This week's SCHS Pets of the Week are Pookie and Red! To make an appointment to meet them, call us at 608-356-2520.
Sweet Pookie, a stunning 3-year-old domestic shorthair black/brown tabby, was surrendered to us due to her owner's health issues. Her beautiful green eyes might be the first thing you notice, but it's her sweet nature that will capture your heart. Initially a bit reserved, Pookie soon reveals her affectionate side, especially when she's curled up in your lap. She relishes in being groomed and has a particular fondness for catnip. This loving and gentle cat is looking for a calm, nurturing home where she can continue to blossom into the affectionate companion she truly is. She is up to date on her vaccinations and will be spayed prior to adoption.
Red, a 1.5-year-old Basset Hound mix, found his way to our shelter due to his previous owner's health issues. Red can be quite the goofball, at times being jumpy and excitable, showing he still has some puppy energy to channel into training. He does fairly well on leash walks, a testament to his potential for further obedience skills. Red also maintains a clean kennel and shows a good demeanor around cats and is generally friendly with other dogs. He’s looking for a home that can nurture his lively spirit and guide him with the training he needs. Red is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.

Sweet Drew is off to put some smiles on people’s faces at Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center.
We can’t believe this wonderful boy still doesn’t have a home. 🥺 He’s been here since September 2023!
Drew is a Dachshund/terrier, Jack Russell mix. He is about 4.5 years old. He was surrendered because his owners were having issues with house training him. Drew would do best in a home where someone is home more, rather than live somewhere where he would be locked up for long periods at a time. He is a little shy at first, but once he is comfortable with someone new, he is very sweet and affectionate. He enjoys playing with toys and going for walks. He has gotten so good with leash walking since he arrived. Drew is a great little dog...and how can you resist those eyes?! He should be okay with a feline roommate, but he would need a home without other dogs. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.
Help us spread the word so we can find Drew a home!

This week's SCHS Pets of the Week are Loo and Sky! To make an appointment to meet them, call us at 608-356-2520.
Loo, a charming 9-month-old domestic medium hair kitten with sleek black fur, was brought in after being discovered in a homeowner's heating vent. Arriving as a stray, she quickly revealed herself to be the perfect kitty. Overflowing with love, Loo is both playful and affectionate, delighting in the simple pleasures of toys and exploring tunnels. She cherishes lap time, soft treats, and communicates her contentment with sweet, soft purrs. Loo's gentle nature and loving demeanor make her an ideal companion, promising to bring joy and companionship as a wonderful new pal to her forever family. She is up to date on her vaccinations and will be spayed prior to adoption.
Sky, a 6-year-old Terrier, American Pit Bull mix, has a captivating brown and yellow brindle coat. Found as a stray, her original owner was unable to reclaim her, leading Sky to seek a new fur-ever home. Known for her sweet disposition and affectionate nature, Sky is the epitome of a loving companion. She is playful, adoring her toys, and usually obedient, with a grasp of basic commands. While generally good on a leash, she can sometimes be easily distracted. Sky is lively and can get a bit jumpy due to excitement, indicating she would benefit from some additional training to polish her manners. She should be okay with a feline friend but would prefer a home without another dog. She is up to date on her vaccinations and will be spayed prior to adoption.

Mickey, a year-old black and white domestic shorthair, arrived at our shelter as a cautious stray, initially wary of his new surroundings. Over time, this charming feline has blossomed, showcasing his playful and curious nature. He enjoys exploring his environment and engaging in playful antics, especially with wand toys. Mickey has a unique way of communicating, quietly chatting with those around him, expressing his contentment and curiosity. He values his independence but doesn't shy away from affection, often purring contentedly as he rubs against your legs. Mickey is now ready to find a forever home where he can fully relax and share his newfound confidence and joy. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.
Jessie, a spirited Lab mix, found her way to our shelter as a stray. At about 10 months old, she's a bundle of energy, always on the move and a bit jumpy. Jessie is in search of an owner who is going to be deeply committed to her training, ready to harness her enthusiasm in positive ways. While she's learning to walk on a leash, she's still mastering how to stay focused amidst distractions. Beyond her lively antics, Jessie is incredibly lovable and affectionate. She adores giving kisses and finds great joy in curling up in your lap, offering endless affection and seeking the same in return. She would be okay with another dog but would prefer a home without cats. She is up to date on her vaccinations and will be spayed prior to adoption.

This week's SCHS Pets of the Week are Ryker and Loki! To make an appointment to meet them, call us at 608-356-2520.
Ryker, a handsome orange tabby cat, came to our shelter as a stray. At about 3 years old, he exudes a mellow demeanor, content with leisurely exploring his new environment and expressing his fondness for the cat scratchers. Ryker's affectionate nature is undeniable; he cherishes moments of lap time and snuggles, often enhanced by the delightful addition of catnip. His calm and loving personality makes him an ideal companion, offering the perfect balance of independence and intimacy. Ryker isn't just a cat; he's a friend, ready to share his heart and enrich the life of anyone lucky enough to take him home. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.
Loki is a beautiful yellow Labrador Retriever mix, only 7 months old, who was surrendered to our shelter by an owner unable to commit to his training needs. As a young pup full of life, Loki embodies the playful and energetic spirit typical of his age. He requires an owner who is ready to dedicate time and patience to his training, particularly to curb his enthusiasm and tendency to jump in excitement. While Loki walks nicely on a leash, he's easily distracted by other animals so he will need training on staying focused. He enjoys playing and tossing his toys around. Loki is an incredibly sweet and friendly puppy, eager to find a loving home where he can thrive and learn. He would be okay with other dogs in the home, but not any cats or small critters. He is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered prior to adoption.

She's up to date on her vaccinations and will be spayed prior to adoption.
Louco is a 2-year-old American Blue Heeler mix. He was surrendered because his owner did not have the time to give him the attention he deserves. He is outgoing and very friendly.
