The members of the Bourbon City Bark Park wish to extend our deepest sympathy to Therese Johnson in the passing of her husband, Archie. Therese is a founding member of the Board of Directors of the bark park, serving as Financial Director, in our early days. Archie was a huge supporter of the park as well, giving in many ways as a volunteer with his time and financial support. Together, Therese and Archie have made a positive impact in the success of The Bourbon City Bark Park. Our thoughts and prayers are with Therese and her family.

For some it was a rainy day to stay inside... but not for these students from Thomas Nelson High who gave their time, effort and energy into a day of outdoor work at the Bourbon City Bark Park! This team of Thomas Nelson General Serve students pulled weeds, cleaned signs, scrubbed benches, hauled gravel, cleaned water fountains and picked up sticks in the rain and with positive attitudes!!! Our park looks amazing. We are so appreciative to these students and their leaders. This is what leadership and community partnership looks like!

On Friday evening, Apr 30 at 6:30PM, we will have the official burning of the brush pile in the small dog section. Pull up a chair, bring your own beverage of choice, and enjoy the bonfire. Not all pets are fire friendly so use caution while it is burning and be very sensitive to the hot ashes on the morning after. Rain date for the burn will be Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday, May 2 at 1:00PM, the dog park is sponsoring a curbside clean up, extending from McDonald;s to Heaven Hill and back. We welcome volunteers who are able to walk street side and help us meet our goals. Tootise will be riding in one car to flag traffic and we need one more volunteer to drive the other car on the end. Lunch and drinks will be provided at the dog park at 1PM. In return for your efforts, the Dog Park will be given a $500 donation that will be put towards the upkeep of the Park. If you are able to volunteer your time, either comment here, or contact Wilma Sorrell, or just meet us at the park at 1PM on Sunday,

On Tuesday May 4th, at 5:30PM, there will be a meeting held for all dog park members just inside the main gate of the Park. This will be your opportunity to hear about future upkeep and it is your chance to express any concerns or ask any questions regarding our Dog Park

Hope to see you at some of these events, if not all of them. As always, we thank you for your cooperation in keeping our dog park a safe and welcoming place for all our furry friends.

Please share this post. You do not need to be a member to volunteer.
