🌟 Thank You for Your Incredible Support!🌟

We are so overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from our online and in-person fundraisers over the past weekend. Thanks to our amazing community and members, we are closer than ever to providing new seating in the park for everyone to enjoy—especially our elderly members and visitors who cherish walking our beautiful paths.

But we’re not there yet, and we still need your help! Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to our goal. Your contributions will go directly to creating a more comfortable, welcoming space.

💖 Want to help? It’s easy! You can donate via our PayPal fundraiser—no PayPal account needed! Just click the link below. Remember, all donations are tax-deductible as we are a registered charity through PayPal, and a registered 501 c 3 non-profit organization.

🐾 Help Us Improve Bourbon City Bark Park! 🐾

At Bourbon City Bark Park, we strive to create a safe, accessible, and enjoyable space for everyone in our community—especially our furry friends! But we need your help to take our park to the next level.

We’re raising funds for 12 new chairs at $100 each, 8 new benches at $800 each, and 4 new p**p bag dispensers at $100 each—totaling $8,000. These additions are more than just amenities; they’re essential for our elderly and disabled members who enjoy the park for both physical activity and social interaction. For many, the park is a lifeline—a place to connect with others and stay active with their dogs.

We only need 800 amazing people to donate $10 each to make this dream a reality. Your donation will go directly towards improving the comfort and accessibility of our park, ensuring that everyone can enjoy this special space. Plus, as a non-profit, your donation is tax-deductible.

Let’s come together to make Bourbon City Bark Park even better! You can easily donate through PayPal. Every little bit helps, and your generosity will make a big difference in the lives of so many.

Thank you for your support! 🐶❤️

Due to forecasted rain, the photoshoot at the park has been rescheduled to Friday, August 23rd, at 6pm

"Dear Bourbon City Bark Park Members,

We have some exciting news to share! This Friday, the 16th, at 7 PM, we’ll have a professional photographer at the park to capture some wonderful photos for our updated website. We want to show off how vibrant and busy our park is, so we’d love for you to bring your dogs out and join the fun! It’s the perfect chance for both you and your furry friends to look your best and maybe even get featured on the new site!

In addition to fresh photos, we’re rolling out a brand-new website soon, and there are some great updates just for you! The new site will feature a members-only section where you can find things like:

-A Lost and Found section for any items left behind.
-An Events Calendar to keep track of all the exciting happenings at the park.
-An easy way to sign up to volunteer and help make our park even better!

We’re so grateful to the Bardstown Tourism Grant for making this possible, and we can’t wait for you to see the upgrades. Let’s make Friday’s photo session one to remember—see you and your pups at the park!

Warm regards,
Bourbon City Bark Park Team"

Dear Members,

We wanted to let you know that the bamboo in the Large Dog section has been temporarily cut down for park maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we're working hard to save the park money by handling this ourselves and to avoid the need to remove the bamboo completely.

The bamboo will need to dry for 1-2 days before we can begin prepping the area for regrowth. During this time, we’ll also be removing all weeds and overgrowth to ensure the best possible environment for the bamboo’s return. Our goal is to have the improved sensory area looking better by the Fall and fully revitalized by Spring.

We’re committed to keeping this original statement piece in our beloved dog park, but it requires careful maintenance. As bamboo is a known invasive plant that can spread up to 20 feet from its original planting, we’re taking these steps to manage its growth effectively.

To help prevent groundskeeping issues in the future, we’re working on creating a yearly maintenance plan for the park. If you’d like to contribute or lend a hand, please reach out to us here or at [email protected].

Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to keep our park beautiful and enjoyable for everyone!

Dippin Dogs is an event like no others where the dogs rule. But it takes the human touch to keep it safe and make it happen - and we need your help. The dog park needs a minimum of 2 people to help stage the dog park booth, one person from 10-12 and one person from 12-2. The Humane Society/Animal Control also needs your help in various areas if you prefer to do that. Either way, just reach out to any dog park Board Member when you see them in the park and let them know you can help. Since not everyone is on FB, an email will also be sent out to all members with more information on how to volunteer to help the dogs dip. Whether you work or whether you play, Dippin' Dogs is the place to be. Saturday, August 24th, 10-2, at the Bardstown City Pool on W. Broadway. 🐾🐾

Today, Wednesday, and Thursday before it gets too hot out, let your dog run it out at the park! This will help with energy and anxiety when the fireworks start later in the day.

Make sure your dogs are leashed before exiting the park.

Our adoption day event today was a great success! A little rain at the start helped cool things down and didn’t slow us down one bit!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make today happen and to all who came out! Of the 8 dogs we had up for adoption, 3 have found their furever homes and 2 are potential adoptions, pending how they adjust with their new owners' dogs.

This is pawsome news for our local animal shelter, as it frees up space for future surrenders and helps prevent dogs from being abandoned. Thank you Nelson County KY Animal Control and Shelter and Humane Society of Nelson County
